Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds
Advantages: Look good, nice price, sound great
Back when I were a kid, earbuds were just about around, and they were pretty cheap - bog standard black plastic with a foam cover. The sound quality was OKish but they made your ears SO hot - and they broke so easily! Nowadays you can get fabulous in ear (or earbuds as they now seem to be called) headphones, which are comfortable, sound great and last.
The Skullcandy INK'D earbuds are all that AND trendy. Gone are the ugly foam pads or plain black buds. Now you can get fashionable earphones which aren't iPod white (and I don't actually rate the iPod earphones for sound either). You can get these great INK'D earbuds in a range of slightly metallic colours including the pictured green pair, blue, and a vibrant goth pink, and all have a black skull logo on them. They look very nice.
The sound quality, too, is excellent. The earbuds can handle any type of music well and reproduce a good, full sound with no fuzz or tinniness, and with very little sound bleed (aka, annoying other people on public transport). The ear cone part, which is black on all colours of earbud, is a soft, comfortable rubber which sits nicely in your ear, and unlike the foam inserts you used to get, doesn't get too hot, or too dirty.
And all this for a low price, too - I paid just over £12 for mine including delivery from Amazon. I've also seen them for sale in high street electronics stores such as Currys and Comet, PC World, and in independent stores and online. They are all around £12 which I think is a great price for these stylish earbuds, as they are so well made they will certainly last.
I think they're a great gift for any music lover who wants something a bit different when it comes to earphones, but doesn't want to compromise on style. I bought a pair for my 17 year old nephew and he loves them - and he's pretty difficult to get the seal of approval from! Also - at 29 I feel quite fashionable using them ;)
Overall - a great pair of earbuds which will appeal to style lovers who still want a decent long lasting pair which kicks out a good quality sound. I'd certainly buy again from the Skullcandy range. Five stars out of five from me - highly recommended.
Summary: A great gift too!
