Skullcandy INK'D Earbuds
Advantages: Competitively priced, clear sound, lots of colours to choose from.
I got my pair of Skullcandy Ink'd extremely cheaply from amazon.co.uk for £6.79 as they were selling them off, and I guess not many people want electric pink ear buds.
The colour of my set of ear buds makes them a bit more individual to me and they match my hot pink mp3 player.
Skullcandy are a very well known brand of headphones, they are known for there amazing sound and the many different colours and styles available. There is a pair to suit every pocket ranging from over the head style aviators coming in at £150 a set to these brilliant little ink'd in ear ear buds costing £17.99.
The ear buds are built to an amazingly high standard each part of the ear bud has the distinctive Skullcandy logo imprinted somewhere on it. In the pack you get a set of ink'd ear buds and three differently sized silicon covers for the part that is inserted into your ear so you can choose a size that is comfortable for you. The speaker diameter is 11mm so that is comfortable for most people and with a cable that is 1.3 meters long there is plenty of length so you don't pull the jack out your phone or mp3 player or the ear buds out of your ears.
The technical specs are as follows
Speaker Diameter: 11mm
Magnet type: NdFeB
Frequency Response: 20-20k Hz
Impedance: 16 ohms
Max Input Power: 100mW
Cable Type: TPE
Cable Length: 1.3m
Plug Type: 3.5mm Gold Plated
A lot of that means nothing to me; I do know that a gold plated jack plug is better than one that is not as it conducts the signal from your mp3 player, I-Pod or phone better. The cable length is really good, long enough to reach from your pocket to your ear easily. The cable is coated in rubber and feels quite strong so no accidental snapping.
The sound is amazing, if you are looking for volume and clarity without to much pressure on your pocket then these are the ones for you, I listen mostly to chart music and the sound quality is crystal clear, for example when I plugged some cheap standard headphones into my mp3 player I could hear crackle in the music and the sound was muted but when I swapped over to my Ink'd the clarity was amazing, to me they are as good as having the big bulky over the head style headsets without the discomfort.
The volume from these ear buds is very high, my mp3 player seems louder when I use them, and once they are slotted into my ears no body else can ear the music. There is no excess sound, it is all funnelled into my ears, also the ear buds cut off all sound from around me so when I have my music on I am happily oblivious to all noise around me.
Skullcandy ink'd are available on amazon.co.uk, ebay.co.uk and many other online retailers and high street stores. Skullcandy also have a website uk.skullcandy.com, this has all the latest ink'd colours and other Skullcandy headphones that can be brought from them with free shipping as standard.
