Decent Pair Of Everyday Headphones
Sony MDR V150

Sony MDR V150
Advantages: Good sound quality, reasonable priced, long cord, fits different input sizes, reversable ear piece
Disadvantages: Shows signs of wear, could do with bassier sound
The design is fairly straight foward and without too much gimmick or groundbreaking ergonomic thought. The headphone consists of a thin plastic arced strap that goes over the head about an inch in width for stability and a few millimetres thick. It is strong and reliable but also has enough give and flexibility as to not make it uncomfortable to wear. There is no padding or further support for comfort so its make-up is rather rudimentary but serves it's purpose well. On either side aware plastic adjustable arms so you can alter the height at which the ear piece sit on your ears. There are 10 different height options differing by around 5 mm each time to fit most, although I tend to have them on the smallest setting and am not particularly small of head so perhaps it might not work for all. The adjustability is fairly smooth and easy to move. Once adjusted to the height they click into place and tend to stay well although I have notice that over time and with continual wear, they are slipping out of place more frequently as the joints loosen. The connection between ear piece and strap also now has a tendency to come apart. It's easy to fit back into place but a bit of a nuisance. I would have thought this construction should have been stronger and able to take more wear.
As for the ear pieces themselves, they are of a decent size and circular and adequately cover the ears. Surrounding each ear piece is foam padding for comfort. They are fairly comfortable to wear but I don't think too much expense has gone into their comfortability as the foam itself is quite thin and has a lot of give to it. They also aren't very good at containing the sound and there is alot of bleed to the outside world, even at low-ish volume. I use them in an office environment so this is quite a big factor and it would have been good if this could have been addressed more. If you are a DJ and intend on using them for that purpose, the ear pieces are reversible so you can listen with one ear without having to wear them. It's a nice touch, but largely irrelevant for me and I've never used them this way.
As for the sound quality itself, it's fairly good for a low range headphone. For me it lacks a little bit of depth and bass and can be a little thin at times. I think the lack of depth is particularly noticeable if listening to orchestral music or things with alot of instrumentation. That said, the clarity of sound is very good and it can pick up minor details as imperfections in recordings. What it lacks in depth it makes up for in its crystal clear sound quality. Again unfortunately, with age and continual wear, they have lost a bit of their edge and I have found that at a relatively high volume, but not crazy high, there is now some distortion and peaking particularly with high pitches.
Finally, the headphone cable has a mini jack output but also comes with an adapter to fit the larger size. The cable itself is of ample length at around a meter so has a fair stretch to it. An issue I've found with many other sets is that the cable is never long enough but that is not an issue here.
I think for the price, these are a good set of headphones but I would question the durability of them. After 2 1/2 years problems are beginning to occur. Fair enough they get quite heavy use but similarly they don't travel or get knocked about as they are purely for office use so as such, I would expect better... especially from Sony. They are available to buy on Amazon currently retailing new for £12.98.
Summary: Worth purchasing if you are looking for something decent without great expectations
