I wouldn't normally think to write a review about something as trivial as a pair of headphones, however, I have a pair of these currently stuck to my ears and they're doing a fantastic job, so I figured there would be nothing better to do than to write about them. Sony MDR-XD200 Headphones. They're a favourite for Argos, I believe, probably because they are not too expensive, look good, sound great, they're from a well-known brand, and, well, given the oppurtunity wouldn't you choose huge DJ headphones over little white iPod earphones? I would. PRICE For a good pair of headphones, these are not particularly expensive at all. I got ... Read the complete review

These heaphones have 40 millimeter diameter, dome-type driver units, long-stroke diaphragms and neodymium magnets for greater power handling and higher frequencies. This, despite sounding very nice doesn't mean that much to me, so I will do my best, in laymen's terms (being a headphone layman myself) to describe what makes these headphones great. For listening to music these headphones are superb. They deliver a great deal of clarity and one of the better bass responses I have experienced from a pair of headphones. Where typical earphone headphones would lack these cans pack a punch, sounding fantastic at any volume without the fuzz you may expect at high ... Read the complete review

Bought these headphone for my Sound Assignment on my Multimedia course at Uni. for the money i was quite impressed, comes with 2 jacks for different sized inputs and a nice leather ear pad that makes for comfortable listening, adjustable as most headphones are and fit comfortably around the shape of my head anyhow. Each ear piece has a mono-stereo adjustment for minor tweaking. Sound quality seems good, not amazing fantastic but good definately worth the money you pay for them, good budget headphones i say, was using them on my home PC until I managed to pic myself up some Logitech speakers and up until this point i had been really happy with them. ... After standing around in HMV for a while picking up and putting down a few headphones I picked these ones up for £20. The packaging mentioned something about settings for music and one for movies which enhanced the bass. I don't have audio equipment that would warrant buying high end headphones so these ones looked like they could do the job I required at a reasonable price. Though I'm very pleased with their performance, I still use my old inner earphones on the move as these are a bit too bulky to take out with me. I use them mostly at home to listen to music and watch DVDs on my computer. Performance wise they certainly bring out more depth to ... Read the complete review

Rating:
This particular brand from Sony isn't bad, but by no means is it anything spectacular either. You get what you pay for in this case, not much. From a musician's standpoint, this is a horrible set. Like most entertainment purpose oriented sets this one will hype the high and low sounds which of course reflects poorly on what you should be hearing. From an entertainment standpoint though they are closed headphones they do leak a considerable amount of sound so if you're hoping to blast a song in public don't be surprised by irritated or surprised looks that might come your way. There is a switch on each cup, music and movie, and though ... Read the complete review
