Advantages: Light, compact, clever design and great sounding for any price range!

Disadvantages: Not the most beautiful of their kind, but certainly not the ugliest

I got these headphones pretty recently, and I must say, they aren't half bad! They do the job just nicely, no less than what I expected, and at a great price. I opted for these, after getting through two decent pairs of in-earphones, thinking that over-the-head earphones may offer greater durability and overall better sound. The Sony MDR ZX300 has certainly lived up to these expectations; sound quality is flawless for this price range and even gives some more expensive brands a run for their money. Now that's true quality!

These offer more bass than my previous in-earphones and deliver all sounds with such clarity. It has been a joy to cycle through my music collection again, bringing new life to some old favourites. I've been able to pick up new sounds from songs that I once didn't notice. Incredible!

The sound from these bad boys is ace, and the fit and comfort of them on is no different. It's a clever design; there's a mechanism at the sides that allow you to adjust the size of them, expanding and contracting them as you please, to either loosen or tighten the fit or just simply so they fit your head size. The ear bits are padded, making for a comfortable fit, and there's also mobility with the actual ear buds being able to rotate. They are also quite compact, in this way.

So there you are: they're comfortable, compact, nice sounding, cheap at under £15 and quite snazzy looking, which is all important for the best possible listening experience. I chose to get them in white, instead of the standard black. I'm not so sure I'd do that again as with the white colouring, they may be more prone to scratches and other marks, though I haven't notice this so it may not be a problem at all. I'm just not so sure the white colour does them justice; it may make them look cheaper - I have wondered about this. Black seems a good choice. You can also get black pairs with a blue or a red metallic bit on the ear bits. The black with the reddy-maroon does look quite appealing!

Being over-the-head earphones, I did wonder about how they'd look on, but I can say they look just fine; they're not too big on your head. You won't feel like the class idiot wearing these, in fact, far from it.

Summary: Terrific sounding and great price for what they are. I can just tell they'll last
