Sony MDR XD200:
... used various larger type headphones in the past I decided to try these Sony ones after some Panasonic broke. They were only £20 at the time, however I have been very disappointed with them. Firstly, there are switches to change them from Music to Movie mode where they EQ the sounds. Honestly, I am not even sure if the switches are actually connected to anything. The frequency response is also very poor. The... Read the full review: I thought these broke my ears by DarkestGrey |

Sony MDR EX71SLB ... online. Well, some awful company called Gnucklebish stole my money and never delivered (there s a story for another review..seems they sprung up from nowhere, took everyone s money and vanished). So, with £14.99 lost and a flight looming, I decided to just buy some more and deal with the offending company later (turns out NoChex were no NoHelp and I m too angry to deal with it just yet)! The Sony were my next choice, so I popped into Comet and picked up the MDR-EX 71 SL for £29.99. The headphones come with a little grey drawstring bag and a case of three sets of "ear pieces", along with instructions. Basically, you pop the rubber ear pieces onto the end ... Sony MDR XD200 ... particular brand from Sony isn t bad, but by no means is it anything spectacular either. You get what you pay for in this case, not much. From a musician s standpoint, this is a horrible set. Like most entertainment purpose oriented sets this one will hype the high and low sounds which of course reflects poorly on what you should be hearing. From an entertainment standpoint though they are closed headphones they do leak a considerable amount of sound so if you re hoping to blast a song in public don t be surprised by irritated or surprised looks that might come your way. There is a switch on each cup, music and movie, and though i ve played around with these two ... Read the full review: Decent, but not great. by MaestroRage |

Sony MDR EX85LP ... have only recently brought these earphones from a reputable online auction site. i expected mediocre performance from them as they were cheap, however i got the shock of my life when i first plugged them in. WOW WOW WOW. i had a pair of sennheiser in ear headphone before that were ok. nothing special, which they should have been. these however blew me away, the frequency range is outstanding, aided by the design of the woofer unit. i tried them on cd/mp3 and online streaming and it was very easy to distiguish between the quality of audio. the bass unit has really got some power behind it, which manifests itself without being overpowering. the various different sized ea...
