~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ The average Xbox 360 user settles for the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 headset for voice communication and TV speakers for game sound output, which is fine - however most gamers will agree that having the sound up loud on the TV is not an option a lot of the time due to other members of the family yelling at us to "turn that noise down" (usually with a bit of profanity thrown into that quote!). This means that most of the time we will play our games at relatively low volumes, but lets face it - explosions and gun fire were never meant to sound quiet were they - so why should we settle for ... These headphones may look like a pair of oversized headphones, and they are. But they transform the immersion of gaming, particular if you've grown accustomed to basic sound systems built in to TVs. It might sound off that the simple addition of headphones can transform a good gaming experience to a great one, but the realism these provide (and at surprising comfort) make you integrate with the game like never before. The headphones give you brilliant audio quality and highlight the deficiency of playing (particularly FPS games) without surround sound or noticable stereo and even in the case of good 5.1 systems creates an even better effect with it ... Introduction Right, I bought these headphones last week primarily to be used on Call of Duty 4. They cost £43.50 including delivery from Amazon and was amazed at how quickly they turned up. In the past I have had 2 sets of original Microsoft earphones and have also purchased the Wireless Microsoft headset which I thought was great until these bad boys turned up. On first impressions I was slightly miffed at how many wires there were but on the same level un-phased as I knew these headphones were going to be awesome , I frantically set about installing the headphones so I could experience what is was like to feel like you were part ... These headphones and microphone where built and design specifically for use with the Xbox 360 gaming console. However they can easily be converted for use with a computer giving them dual purpose. Like any other headphones they are held in place over you head with strapping type headband. The strapping on these is ajustable. I have a very small head and often have trouble with getting headsets to not fall off! I was very pleased when the the headset fitted perfectly once ajusted and it was not even on it smallest setting. Having said that it is also big enough to be worn by others with larger brains than mine. The strapping is padded which makes it very ... Read the complete review
I have been playing Call of Duty for years now and have never had the urge to get a pair of these or any similar ones until recently. There are 2 main reasons someone buys Turtle Beach's, the first is the fact that you can hear the sound a lot better. Everything in the game sounds a lot loader and all the little details are a lot clearer. You can hear things in the back ground that you wouldn't normally hear, like the wind and distant gun fire. The other things you can hear are footsteps. With these headphones, you can tell if an enemy is near you and if you are good enough you can tell exactly where he is. If they are to the left, then you hear it to the ... Read the complete review
