I have been using these headphones for a couple of years now. I liked them so much that i bought a second pair so that I can always have a pair with me. I am no expert when it comes to headphones, but I do feel the sound quality on these is especially good for the affordability. When using them, the fit is nice and snug to cancel out other external noise, making them especially useful for commutes, busy places and noisy neighbours.
The design of these headphones is both stylish and colourful. Not too bulky, but with enough colour to catch the eye. I've had many people ask where my headphones were from and I always recommend them as a good buy.
One of the best uses of these headphones is the extra socket it has to connect another pair of headphones or earphones to them. This enables two people to listen to the music on your iPod/MP3 player without having to use earphones and have each person use one earphone only.
The only downside to these headphones that I feel does impact the advantages is the inability to control the volume through them. This must still be controlled through your iPod/MP3 player. Not a massive big deal, but definitely a bit of a pain if you want to just shove your iPod in your pocket and away you go.
Overall I would highly recommend these headphones. Great price and great product. They come in so many great colours too. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair should either of my pairs stop working. I've had to actively try not to buy more pairs just for the great colour range in itself!
I'm now onto my second pair of Urbanears Plattan headphones. The first pair stopped working due to a faulty wire, although I'm not sure how. This didn't stop me buying them again!
Personally, they're the best sound quality headphones I've ever owned. In comparison to the more raved-about headphones, like Dr Dre, they're really well priced. My first pair lasted me about a year before the wire somehow damaged, only allowing the headphones to work if the wire was in a certain position (which is incredibly irritating).
Nonetheless, they have an a good design in a range of colours/textures. There is also a microphone and a pause button, which is really useful when listening to music on a locked device. Another useful element of these is the little input socket on one of the earpads, which allows another pair of earphones to be connected to your own - meaning that you can share your music with someone else.
After a year I've experienced no problem with my second pair :)
I've seen few negative reviews of these headphones regarding the sound quality, but I'm completely satisfied with the sound quality myself. Maybe this is because I've never really owned a high-end pair of headphones before so I don't really have a basis to compare these to! I'd definitely recommend Urbanears headphones to someone wanting affordable headphones but at a good quality :) However if my current pair get damaged I won't be buying from them again.
I bought these Urbanears head phones from Urban Outfitters in Westfield shopping mall (Stratford, London) a while back. I think the nice colour shade attracted me ha! I do love the colour as it makes these head phones really vibrant, fresh looking and contemporary.
I'm not a music expert, but these were not the best head phones that I have ever owned (My WeSC head phones were better sound quality for around a similar price). There was a little plastic bit which had a button on it to pause and resume the song, but I would have preferred volume controls on this panel as I often have my phone in my pocket (I also like this function for running, but I would not recommend these ear phone for running). I did wear these head phones for running once, but it was a silly idea because the ear bits made my ears way too hot and they were just generally uncomfortable - lesson learnt!!!
The head phones are not that bad considering they are under fifty quid though - the overrated, tacky Beats by Dr Dre come in at around £100-£200 by comparison! The look of these head phones is also really nice compared to the hideous plastic of the Beats (but that is just my own option there, as I know Beats are really popular with some people).
I would recommend these head phones if someone is just looking to listen to some music at home, school, college, the bus etc, but maybe not for people with a critical ear for quality and certain types of music that rely on heavy bass notes.
A few years ago now, I was looking for a good set of headphones for which I could use for day to day, leisure and travel use. And after a recommendation by a friend, I found these plattan headphones sold by Urbanears, they looked beautiful, with nice leather sound pads, and a beautiful blue/indigo shading everything on the headphones. They were quite expensive -£40 on offer at the airport store( I understand the price has dropped- you're in for a bargain). I have not regretted a penny or my choice. It has been about two and a half years now, and they have continued to serve me incredibly well. Not only did I feel quite cool wearing them, they wer comfortable, and the sound quality was clear and loud. It worked well across all my devices. However, after about 4 hours of continual use, my ears did start to ache a bit, but I suppose that is all to be expected after binge-watching a series of tv.
The two ear pads are adjustable and great for using on heads of all sizes, whether my young cousins, or myself, I found that it was ideal and comfortable.
However, my favourite feature is definitely a small input socket located on the bottom of the right ear pad. This enables you to plug another set of headphones or earphones into your headphones so you can watch at the same time. In essence, an earphone splitter that was inside the headphones. This proved useful for young haul journeys with friends when we wanted to watch something together.
However, the headphones are not invincible, or immortal, and unfortunately, after a few years of slightly negligent and thorough use, they are starting to wear down slightly. But, I think that if they do break in another year, I may just go back and but another one.
I absolutely love these headphones and would recommend them for anyone looking for a good pair with nice aesthetics, noise cancelling, and simply brilliant.
I bought these headphones as they were on special offer at HMV for Twenty Five Pounds, and I have been very pleased with them. I am not too sure about the variety of technologies used in the headphones, and with a very generic design there sure aren't any gimmicks, and it isn't a fashion statement, just high quality headphones at a reasonable price.
I listen to quite a lot of music, and use in ear earphones for when I'm out, but I'm finding them quite uncomfortable, and the sound quality not as good as on ear headphones. I knew I must find a pair that would have good sound quality, for a cheap price, without being to flashy or gimmicky for outside wear and use. When I found these very generic, cheap but sturdy and high quality headphones I took the plunge and I definitely haven't regretted it.
They have quite hard ear padding, but it is still very comfortable, sitting on a sweet spot, just on your ear instead of surrounding it. It provides clear, crisp, with beautiful high notes, and incredible, head vibrating bass, sound quality, and can run very high quality files on my mobile phone with ease. I have had no trouble with leaking, even at very high volumes, and the quality doesn't decrease at high volumes either.
I would recommend these headphones to anybody, as they are simple, beautiful, good quality and cheap.
