Veho Z-1 Earbuds
Advantages: Comfortable to wear, 3 sizes of buds provided. Good quality and sound.
Disadvantages: None, except maybe check prices, don't just buy from the first place you find.
Like many people I have signed up to receive emails offering Groupon deals, but despite being tempted by some of the deals I have never taken advantage until recently, when these Veho Earbuds were offered via a Groupon deal for just £8. This represented quite a saving against the 'usual' selling price of £ 29.95 as stated on the Groupon deal and I decided I would take advantage of this offer. I also had a £5 voucher from Groupon which I received after joining and by redeeming this also, it meant that I could purchase some of these Earbuds for just £3.
I had been looking to purchase some Earbuds for a while but had never got round to actually doing anything about it until spotting this deal. Earbuds were suggested to me a while back by a friend when I was telling her about my earphones not staying in my ears and falling out all the time, as well as feeling uncomfortable.
These particular Earbuds are manufactured by Veho, a brand I had no experience of prior to buying these.
The Earbuds are noise isolating and compatible with all common mobile/MP3 Player devices including iPod/iPhone/iPad.
Veho state that using these earbuds ensure you'll "only hear the music you want to enjoy" and they also have a anti-tangle flex cord system.
I completed the Groupon deal and a few days later my earbuds arrived, packed in a clear tube. On removing the earbuds I noticed they come with three different sized 'buds' to attach. I have no idea if this is common place with all earbuds but I do think this is a good idea and ensures you should be able to achieve a decent fit for your ears. The medium sized buds from the three sizes supplied were already attached, so I decided to try the earbuds with this size first and found they seemed to fit perfectly and snugly into my ears.
They felt a little strange at first and I was hesitant about using them as they fit deeper into your ear than the usual earphones, but they certainly felt more comfortable and the good news was they stayed put and didn't fall out as soon as I moved my head!
I had connected the earbuds to my iPod Nano with no problems and I am very pleased with the sound, which is clear and the bass sounds solid. The noise isolating feature does exactly that and the flex doesn't tangle, Overall the quality appears to be very good. They are lightweight as you would expect, but do not seem flimsy or 'cheap'.
The only problem I have experienced is that after a while of using these earbuds I begin to feel dizzy and so I have only used them for short periods and don't really feel happy about continuing to use them. The dizziness is something I also experienced when using the earphones and so am now thinking that headphones are maybe the best option for me. I have therefore passed these on to my partner to use after just a few uses and he experiences no problems with dizziness at all and thinks these are ideal. He is also very happy with the sound the earbuds provide and states they are much more comfortable to wear than any other earphones he has used.
Therefore if you don't experience any dizziness as I do when wearing earphones, then I can recommend these earbuds as both myself and my partner think they are far more comfortable to wear than earphones.
As for these earbuds being a bargain, they certainly were for me as I only paid £3 for them and the £8 Groupon offer price is also a good price. However, I have since noticed that whilst these Veho Earbuds are indeed priced at £29.95 on the Veho website, it is possible to buy them from many other outlets at a far cheaper price. For example Amazon sell these earbuds priced at £10.18 and they can be found from as little as £4.75 upwards from other online retailers.
I don't regret taking advantage of the Groupon deal as I had a voucher to use, however, this has made me wary of future 'deals' as some of them may not be the bargain you are led to believe they are.
If you are looking to purchase Earbuds, I would be happy to recommend these from Veho, but it is worth shopping around before purchasing as prices vary greatly.
