Advantages: Reliable, detachable microphone

Disadvantages: Prices gone up now

Before purchasing this headset I was using Logitech and they would often break within the first six months or year. I ditched my Logitech buying trend and opted to bag this for £22 on ebuyer including free delivery. A testament to its build quality is the fact I have used the Fatal1ty for nearly over two years.

Aesthetics: Its a nice looking headset one that you would not think twice about wearing on a LAN party or even with your iPod when you are out and about. The microphone is also detachable so it can also act like a booming headset when you want to listen to music on the go.

Ergonomics: Very comfortable as the earphones envelope all around the ear and the light headband sits snugly atop the head taking the weight and pressure off the earphones. Padding around the earphones is soft and has a nice leathery feel to it. If you game long, watch lengthy movies or you have your headset on constantly when you are on the computer the Fatal1ty is as comfortable as it gets; you can game longer, watch more movies and do more work.

Cable Length: at 2.5 metres it will give you plenty and more when you are on the computer or moving around in your room when using. I often times lie back and watch TV or movies on my bed whilst having this on.

Sound Quality: Absolutely faultless. The bass is good so you can make out footsteps and what have you when gaming. If you are of low hearing and need high volume then you can pump it up without any sort of distortion. Sound remains clear all the way from low to high.

Microphone Quality: It has a slight muff on the end of the detachable microphone and is therefore great if you have a lot of background noise as it blocks most if not all of it out. It is clear, responsive and above all doesn't distort your voice.

Build Quality: I believe that for all its qualitys what stands out the most is the way this has been made. It is absolutely reliable and rigid. I threw this around here and there and it kept on working. After two years of heavy and frankly on the virge of abusive usage the wiring from the earphone came loose. If I had been just a bit careful it surely would have lasted me well into a decade. I cannot fault it compared especially to the Logitechs which had a habit of breaking.

Final say: Sounds great, looks great and as reliable as it gets. Only thing is the prices have escalated into the £30 range. Even then I should say that its probably better than a Medusa or Seinheisser basic headset that is likely to cost more than the Fatal1ty. No less than a 5 star headset.

Summary: 3 Rs, reliable, recognisable, rewarding.
