Here we have a product which according to Dooyoo's technical information is suited to conference calls on the computer - through software like Skype I suppose. Well that is definitely a use suited to the capable features of the device, but what I use this product for is gaming chat when online with friends. If you spend any amount of time and money on online gaming you'll no it's worthwhile getting a headset for communication purposes. This one can be bought for around £40.00 (£38.59 on trusty Amazon) which I thinks reasonable - especially for the great quality sound and speech it gives, which I'm about the explain:
The 'Jabra UC Voice 550' has a standard form, similar to most models, and it's simple because the style works. A band made from plastic stretches over your head which is in turn connected to two soft ear muffs. One has a protruding plastic arm with on the end a flexible rubber additional arm and microphone. The great thing about this model (which some alternatives fail to incorporate) is its adjustable features: with the head-band you can lengthen to comfortably fit anyone's skull neatly, and with the mic arm you can alter the angle and end piece flexibly to hover over your mouth - meaning better sound quality on the other end.
Comfortability is combined with an excellent array of technical features I really enjoy using - some of which I haven't come across on other models. There's an easily accessible mute button so that conversation can be transmitted only when you want it to be. Along with the mute is the volume control, and what's called the answer/end button. Now what's great is that all these controls are located in one place, on the control panel piece on the headsets USB wiring. The wire its self is relatively long, maybe 1 meter, and the control panel is easily accessible at the right length down, the buttons nice and easy to press too.
The sound quality, or listening quality is sensational. Even with a dodgy line between friends the sound comes through clearly if not a little broken as it would be. When connection is certain and complete however, the sound is stunning. Volume doesn't have to be particularly high, and the semi-closed back blocks out outside noise well, but not enough for strong sounds to be heard through which is helpful if stuffs happening around you need to be involved in! I have good reports from friends on the other end that my voice comes through clear and sharp too - though this might be to do more with my internet connection and their hardware to be honest.
To conclude, I think for this price you'd find it difficult to come across a set of headphones better. The quality of material and sound is excellent, and the features and flexibility of the hardware fantastic. If you're for gaming help, or something to use at work when communicating with colleges, use this!
