Essential BUT Not Good! (Microsoft Xbox 360 Headset)

The Xbox 360 Headset comes with all Xbox 360`s (reviewed) but can also be bought separately from retailers for a cheap price with it being available at Amazon for £10.97.

The headset is made of plastic and comes in a white and grey colour. The headset has a wire which is plugged into the bottom of the Xbox 360 controller (see my crowned review!) The headset also has a dial to adjust the sound volume however I recommend having it quite high as the sound quality is not always great to be honest and you may struggle to hear people if they have a bad connection with it turned down low.

The headset does really help you over Xbox Live and makes it more enjoyable. It also helps me talk to my friends nearly every day so I can nearly always talk to someone as one of my friends is normally online and over Xbox Live using this headset you can talk to them for free. The headset allows you to talk in many different situations whether talking, taunting over Xbox Live or helping others and sharing tips in a game and really transforms online play.

The problems with this piece of kit though are that it becomes quite uncomfortable after wearing it for a long time which is obviously bad as you want to wear it all the time you are playing on the Xbox which can be very long periods of time (and I play up to about 3 hours a day). Another problem I have with the headset is that sometimes it is difficult to hear people speak, sometimes this is not the headsets fault but it is very annoying and frustrating. I also have heard of many headsets breaking so I presume it is a fragile piece of kit.

Overall, I would recommend the headset as it does improve and make your time on the Xbox more enjoyable however it does have downsides such as being uncomfortable after long periods of time (about 45 minutes onwards.) However it does come free with all new Xbox`s so you can't really complain!

I have also heard that if your headset breaks Microsoft will send you a new one free of charge which is good to know however!
