I asked for a xbox 360 for last christmas and I got one. I got the xbox 360 pro which came with the gray headset. The xbox 360 headset is for xbox live or msn to simply speak to your friends. It is realy clear and I can here every word someone says unless its someone who speaks a different language. Lol. The headset is easy to use, just put the end of the headset in to the back of your xbox 360 controller. This can be done to both types of controllers, the wireless one or the wired one. If you've got a chat pad, then you've probably realised that you would of pluged the chat pad in to the whole where you put your headset in to, but dont worry at the back of the chat pad its got another whole for your headset. The headset does not come with the xbox 360 arcade but you get one with the elite. The good thing about the elite's headset is that its more comfortable. I think that the xbox headset that comes with the xbox 360 pro is it can get annoying due to the fact it isn't very comfortable.

Summary: A good way to speak to your friends online
