      A decent enough headset

we use Skype for calls at work and I, along with several colleagues, was given this Philips headset to use with it. After a few months daily use, I'd say that the sound quality is very good (both in terms of what you hear and what it picks up) and the set is both robust and durable (these get lugged around in rucksacks too). My co-workers have made similar observations, so its not just me. In terms of connecting to your PC, there is the option of plugging the 2 jacks into a USB adaptor or just plugging them directly into the mic / speaker sockets. Initially I used the USB option but I had problems with it not being picked up all the time (on my Dell Precision M4300), and now plug the jacks directly into the sockets on the PC which seems to do the trick. This is not the most comfortable headset I've ever used and I always fiddle with fitting it properly - this isn't a big deal for 10 minute Skype calls but could be a concern for someone gaming with it. My main gripe is that it doesn't fold down to a small size which I find an annoyance in terms of portability.
