This Plantronics headset is pretty standard and it is easy to use especially if you are wanting to use it for hands-free calls. But i've found that when connected to a PC and making calls the sound quality can sometimes be poor. By poor i mean that it is sometimes really quite even with the volume turned up high, there is no crackling or anything though. So this headset certainly isn't the best for those who need something loud that they can hear.
The problem i sometimes have with headsets is that they aren't always particularly comfortable to wear, but the headband on this headset is flexible and easy to adjust to make it comfortable for you. The ear cushions are soft but i sometimes found them a bit itchy. Also sometimes the end of the mouthpiece would fall off so i would have to secure it back on.
If you are looking for a headset that is easy to use then this one is good but don't expect anything spectacular. It costs between £20-£25 new.
As an avid online gamer who likes to get involved in the games I play by speaking to other team mates etc through team speak. ventrillo and the likes, I decided to purchase the Plantronics Blackwire C210 at the reasonable price of £25.
On first impression, I found it isn't very robust. I'm quite heavy handed with things and had to be careful not to break the plastic in two. The headband is fully adjustable and I got it at a perfect fit, not too tight and not too loose. When gaming I can lose track of time and can be on for hours at a time, so having cushion like pads on the ears, is a nice feature to have and makes them feel warm and comfortable.
The headset is incredibly easy to use. As it connects via the USA port, simply plug-and-play. The microphone uses noise-cancelling technology to filter out background noise and digital signal processing to help provide a more natural sounding voice. I asked my team mates how I sound and they said they could clear me perfectly, like if I was in their room with them.
Weighing in at 114g, the headset is light on my head and doesn''t dig in at all. Communications with other team mates while playing games using the headset are clear and concise. I never had to ask my team mates to repeat anything. No fuzzy radio-like signals like you get with some headsets, just good quality stereo audio that never fails to disapoint.
