Mobile phones as often as not are sold these days on what features they possess rather than how well they work as phones. Features such as cameras, mp3 players and bluetooth technology are becoming standard in most models nowadays.

Sony Ericsson bring out a line of phones that are pretty much dedicated to music. Which brings me to this headset the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth HBH-DS970.

Bluetooth has been around for quite awhile now - its basically a wireless connection and in this case between your mobile phone and a bluetooth headset. This particular headset is stereo which is aimed at those who use their phones for music as well as making and receiving calls.

They have a cord which hangs around your neck and a dongle with controls - stop/pause forwards/backwards and an on/off switch. It also includes a small LED screen which shows what particular track your playing.

The microphone is further up the cord on one side and gives good reception and opposite is a button which allows you to receive calls and to call the last dialled number.

The ear-buds themselves are soft and unnoticeable once inserted
and the clarity of sound is excellent. I've used them consistently for 6/8 hours before the battery has given up.

Overall I've really enjoyed them. The sound is really good although the battery could be better - 7 hour approx. - its charged via plug as opposed to usb. They're quite discreet more like a standard headset than the over the ear bluetooth which you would normally see.

I should mention that this technology works with other phone makes. A word of warning though, check your phone for compatibility with this technology: A2D2 - it enables stereo on your phone
