Again, this is another quality product from Sony Ericsson. It's got good sound quality, is very cheap making it great value for money and with a nice, compact design it is easy to use. However, the reception on it isn't as good as it is on other products.
First, the packaging on the product is very good, with no hard plastic to cut. This removes the possibility that it could cut your skin and it is also easy to open. The text is very informative and easy to read. Inside, the instructions are clear, and easy to understand while providing all the information that is needed.
The device is easy to set up, just by searching for a new bluetooth accessory through the settings menus.
The design is really nice, as it is really small and compact, which means that it is lightweight and sits on the ear really well. With the comfortable hook that can be moved to a personalised size, it can be worn for a few hours before you can feel that you are wearing it. The buttons are in the right places, and it also includes volume buttons which means you don't have to fiddle with your phone while driving, which suits the purpose of a headset. It is barely noticeable when you are wearing it.
The sound quality through the speaker is really good, as you are able to hear the other person really well. However, the microphone isn't as good as it is on other headsets, or more expensive ones from Sony, as it can sometimes become hard for the other person to hear you. This doesn't just happen in loud areas, and due to the good noise cancellation, the other person can still hear you. It still becomes distorted if you are near to other voices though.
As you would expect, the build quality is very good, and the product feels like it will last.
When compared to the older model, it has various differences. The design is basically the same, but it is a much better headset. On this, the sound quality is much, much better. This means that people are actually able to hear you, due to the better microphone. However, it still isn't as good as others on the market. The noise cancellation has been much improved over the PV702 as well, with it now fully functioning. People can't tell if you are in a loud area, but if you are near other voices it doesn't function very well. Another great improvement is the battery life, as this can now nearly last all day, nearly double that of the previous model. The range has also been improved, which makes it much easier to use if you need to move around. Before, the headset would disconnect from about 5m away, but this doesn't even show signs of problems until about 10m away. This makes it a better option to use with the PS3 as well. Startup is also much quicker, which means that you can quickly switch on the headset and answer a call, and it will work straight away, instead of missing out your first few words on the old model.
The price is really good, but in comparison other products are better value as they are higher quality. Even though it is more expensive that the old model, it is a much better option.
Overall, a good product but there is better products available. It's cheap, and has a really good build quality but the microphone isn't the best as others can sometimes have trouble hearing you. However, compared to the disappointing older model, this is an improvement, but it's not perfect.
When I first got my Playstation 3 a couple of years ago I was looking for a good value headset in order for me to play online. With the PS3 supporting bluetooth this opened up a whole new avenue of options and after a quick look online I opted for this one which was only £14.99 on play.com.
When i recieved the bluetooth headset it came in a nice small package with simple and easy to follow instructions. The bluetooth headset comes with a charger where it can be charged at the mains without the need for a dock, just straight into the headset. The product itself comes in two parts. One part being the headset piece and the other part being the ear shaped attachment that fits the headset to your ear. It is designed really well, so you can easily connect and disconnect the two parts, without it disconnecting when you do not want it to. The headset has a very sleek black design and the rubbery material on the attachment part and also the plastic on the headset feels very nice and of a good quality. The headset is also fairly small which you think would be a problem because of the mouth piece not reaching your mouth but it really is not a problem and makes the headset look barely noticable on your ear.
The functions on the headset are very basic and take care of all of the required needs. There is a button which is used for turning the headset on, off and into a stand by mode and there are also two buttons connected to adjust the volume. To connect a headset to a device, ensure the device is ready to try and pick up the headset. Once the device you are trying to connect the headset to is trying to pick up the headset, press the two volume buttons together and hold them and it should be recognised. I have not had any problems doing this.
When using the headset, you notice that you can't actually notice it. This may be due to the shape of my ear but it is a very comfortable headset and I have had tried a lot worse and friend's houses. You can quite easily walk around with it, not even using it, without being aware that it is attached to your ear. As I said, I use the headset with my PS3 but you can use it for anything that picks up bluetooth including mobile phones. It has a good enough range particularly for the amount of money you pay for it. I need to go downstairs and into the kitchen for mine to start fizzling out and it will give you an audio warning when you are heading out of range. I have to say that the aspect which lets this headset down is the reception quality. Usually it is fine and of an acceptable quality but I have had people telling me that the quality is not as good as other more expensive ones. Part of this would be the headset being a bluetooth headset though rather than a USB.
I have never had any problems with this headset and would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget headset. It is of a very high quality for the price range it is in.
There isn't a huge amount to write about this headset, I got mine with a voucher I was given when buying a new contract mobile phone, it lives in my car.
The sound quality is good, as long as you don't stray too far from your handset but if you do go too far you receive an audible warning. There are only three buttons one to accept a call or to dial the last number called. The other two are to adjust the volume and check the battery level.
You get a battery charger in the box but if you also have a Sony Ericsson mobile phone you can use the charger that comes with your handset. The battery level is easy to check and is indicated by the LED by flashing once, twice or three times. I have only charged mine three times in the seven months I have owned it although it doesn't get heavy use.
The headset can be adjusted to wear over either ear and is lightweight, I have sometimes forgotten I am wearing it.
