Advantages: Cheap, Nice design, Compact, Easy to use

Disadvantages: Reception is not the best

When I first got my Playstation 3 a couple of years ago I was looking for a good value headset in order for me to play online. With the PS3 supporting bluetooth this opened up a whole new avenue of options and after a quick look online I opted for this one which was only £14.99 on play.com.

When i recieved the bluetooth headset it came in a nice small package with simple and easy to follow instructions. The bluetooth headset comes with a charger where it can be charged at the mains without the need for a dock, just straight into the headset. The product itself comes in two parts. One part being the headset piece and the other part being the ear shaped attachment that fits the headset to your ear. It is designed really well, so you can easily connect and disconnect the two parts, without it disconnecting when you do not want it to. The headset has a very sleek black design and the rubbery material on the attachment part and also the plastic on the headset feels very nice and of a good quality. The headset is also fairly small which you think would be a problem because of the mouth piece not reaching your mouth but it really is not a problem and makes the headset look barely noticable on your ear.

The functions on the headset are very basic and take care of all of the required needs. There is a button which is used for turning the headset on, off and into a stand by mode and there are also two buttons connected to adjust the volume. To connect a headset to a device, ensure the device is ready to try and pick up the headset. Once the device you are trying to connect the headset to is trying to pick up the headset, press the two volume buttons together and hold them and it should be recognised. I have not had any problems doing this.

When using the headset, you notice that you can't actually notice it. This may be due to the shape of my ear but it is a very comfortable headset and I have had tried a lot worse and friend's houses. You can quite easily walk around with it, not even using it, without being aware that it is attached to your ear. As I said, I use the headset with my PS3 but you can use it for anything that picks up bluetooth including mobile phones. It has a good enough range particularly for the amount of money you pay for it. I need to go downstairs and into the kitchen for mine to start fizzling out and it will give you an audio warning when you are heading out of range. I have to say that the aspect which lets this headset down is the reception quality. Usually it is fine and of an acceptable quality but I have had people telling me that the quality is not as good as other more expensive ones. Part of this would be the headset being a bluetooth headset though rather than a USB.

I have never had any problems with this headset and would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget headset. It is of a very high quality for the price range it is in.

Summary: A good entry level bluetooth headset.
