jeanjeannie Beneden Healthcare Society: ... was formerly the Post Office & Civil Service Sanatorium Society and I think the change of name reflects it’s very modern approach to healthcare. It certainly was a mouthful. Who can join ? Employees of the post office, BT and civil service PAST & PRESENT. That’s important because I joined the Society about two years ago but I left the Civil Service in 1972. In addition you can then add members of ...

Jillyann WPA Health Insurance
... a family we have belonged to WPA Medical Insurance for many years. I have a bad ongoing back problem with responds well to physiotherapy. However WPA have now said that they wont support the treatment of a condition unless it makes the condition better! So, I could have thousands spent on an operation to solve the problem and they would pay, but they won't pay out for the occasional physio session. Just read your small print carefully. ... is unlike most health insurance schemes as it pays up even with N.H.S. treatment. I've been using it for about 13 years now and never had a problem claiming money. My husband and I each pay £3.20 per week. If either of us has any dental work we can claim half and the spouse can claim the other half. For example if my bill comes to £100 I can claim £50 and he can claim £50 also. With both of us paying this a...

When I got home, I phoned up their information line and was told about the various levels of cover. There are really only two levels. the first one, £7 a month, was for NHS Dental patients and says that Boots will pay for up to £400 of dental treatment in any one year. For £15 a month, for private dental patients, they will pay 75% of your dental bills up to £1000 which, for anyone that has had private dental treatment recently, is great. My mother needs a few hundred pounds of treatment s...
