HSA Healthcare
by diamond345
I found a leaflet in a magazine, advertising this health insurance and giving one month's cover free. I phoned them up to see how much it would work out and signed up straight away. And I was covered straight away too, which I thought was really good, as I had an appointment with a private consultant the following day and I would be ... covered for that.
We pay £39 a month, and that covers me, my husband and my son. HSA covers up to four children, under the age of 18, who live with you, and they are covered free, for the same amount of benefits that apply to the parent/s.
There are different levels of cover, and obviously, the more you pay each month, the more money you will get back from the policy.
They cover dental, which includes check ups and xrays; optical, which includes sight tests, contact lenses and glasses, and osteopathy, homeopathy, physiotherapy, chiropodyand accupuncture. They also pay when you need to be in hospital overnight. They pay the same for NHS hospital stays as they do for private hospitals.
They cover maternity, but there is a 10 month qualifying period.
Cover starts from £2.25 a week.
I always wait until we've had a few treatments, and then send off the form. You have to send original receipts, so I send them registered post. Its a very easy form to fill in, and they send you another claim form each time you make a claim. They have always settled our claims within a week.
I don't really know how this firm make any money! We have had LOADS more money back than what we've paid out! If you regularly use all the things that you are covered for, then you'll be quids in!
One of the best things, is that if you need to see a consultant, then you will get to see a private one, usually within a week or two, then they can refer you for treatment on the NHS. So you can cut about 3 or 4 months off the waiting time! Well worth doing! Read the complete review |

Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society
by quissue
Liverpool Victoria are a very friendly society, they are helpful quick and sometimes reliable.
I have reason to write my review because We have car insurance with them and have had for some years now. Finding them the cheapest for our particular cars around.
Until recently we did not have a problem with this company, all was ... going relatively well and no claims need be made.
Then we had an accident which was not of our making and had to file a claim. This is where the fun started.
After many forms were filled out and I do mean many! We waited to here what the outcome would be, then we found out the man who caused the accident was not insured at the time to drive the vehicle he was driving at that time. Great!
So what now. ?
We had a hire car produced by our insurance and this would apparently be claimed from the mans insurance at a later date, We waited for our valuation from our insurance company as to how much our car was now worth and got a shock as we were hoping for a conciderable amount more than they quoted us. Try to find out what the equivalent value would be they said which was easier said than done and natuarally we could not, because the car is quite old and has been well used. Nevertheless we hoped to be able to replace it at least, but the amount offered was conciderably less than we could easily do this for.
So my advice is simple. Check the amount of excess you will have to pay out as this could seriously affect your final figure when it comes to payout. Ours was excessive and had we realised just how much we would possibly gone elsewhere.
Cheap insurance is great all the while you do not have an accident but the momment you do then you get the possible problems of excess fees and other low ratings on the value of your vehicles.
Do read all the small print and do not assume that everything is going to be fine. These insurance companies are looking out for one person only themselves.
Having said this we do pay a really low rate for our insurance and continue for now to do so. It is worth checking around for other insurance companies as you may get much better deals elsewhere.
Just remember that you get what you pay for and that I am afraid to say is the gods honest truth in this case. Read the complete review |
