Advantages: Too many to list
Disadvantages: None
H.S.A. is unlike most health insurance schemes as it pays up even with N.H.S. treatment. I've been using it for about 13 years now and never had a problem claiming money. My husband and I each pay £3.20 per week. If either of us has any dental work we can claim half and the spouse can claim the other half. For example if my bill comes to £100 I can claim £50 and he can claim £50 also. You can claim on about 25 different items including dental, optical, Day Care Admissions, Maternity, Chiropratic, Home Help, Mental Health, Hearing Aid, Hospital parental stay, Allergy testing etc etc. The Maternity benefit really helped meout. With both of us paying this amount meant I could claim £400 for each child born. If you paid £12.80 each a week you would be able to claim £1600 for your offspring. The claim form is easy to fill out and the money is sent to you by way of a cheque You are free to spend this money as you wish. My subscription easily covers my years dental work, and contact lenses. On top of that they will pay to £136 per year for any private consultations I may need of perhaps I would like to see the Chiropodist (£96 per year) If I need to stay in hospital I can claim and extra £140 per week. Even if my child stays in hospital (private or NHS) I can claim £35 per week, and an extra £140 per week if I need to stay with him while he's there. Or what about accupunture (another £208 p.a.) on top of that. It covers so many everyday needs and each need has a maximum per year benefit, depending on how much you pay each week. You can get treatment when you need it, rather than only when you can afford it. Every year I get back more that I pay in. I wouldn't be without it. I can see the dentist without worrying? Well about the bill that is. No medical is needed. Highly recommended
