International Medical Group (IMG)

I recently purchased health insurance in the US underwritten by IMG. Sure enough visits to the doc offc and an ER visit for 4 hrs for shortness of breath was written off as pre-existing due to occasional high b.p. experienced by the patient in the past. This "pre-existing" verdict is highly debatable and laughed at by the same doctors who provided the service. I do not have the time to contest this with an unresponsive Customer Service, so I give up. These guys are scamsters!! They didn't provide any discounts even for seeing "in-network" healthcare providers. They just do whatever saves them from paying up. I'm not buying health insurance again, not from IMG.

I know they have some exclusions for Florida residents because of a law-suit. IMG is just a health insurance scam.. nothing more. beware of the IMG scam!! stay away from these crooks!!

IMG Europe is a subsidiary of International Medical Group of indiana, USA. The insurer is based in Sweden. In 2005 International Medical Group and their underwriter Sirius International Insurance was fined $836,344 by Florida state government, because they had denied proper medical claims. Recently they were denied a license in Florida and there is an ongoing investigation. Their own previous lawyer is sueing International Medical Group, claiming they breached his employment contract. All in all, a balanced overview would give the company a "very Poor" ...

Stay away from IMG! - Advantages: NONE - Disadvantages: Did not pay claim, BAD customer service, No credibility
