Cuticura Kids Hand Hygiene Wipes
by basketofbuttons
I use moist hand wipes a lot and I don't ever usually use any that are designed specifically for kids. The only reason I bug these was because I couldn't find my normal Tesco wipes in the large tubs and I saw that they had these on offer at the time for 79p for ten individually wrapped wipes. They normally retail at just over £1 ... apparently, so I snapped up two packs and never thought much more about it until I came to use one for the first time after I had collected my daughter from drama class a few weeks ago.
I tend to keep most hand wipes in the glove compartment of my car. When you have kids (and messy husbands) having moist hand wipes is a necessity, I think. The first time we needed to use one of these was when I was driving the car back home and Sarah said that her hands felt sticky from the ice cream she'd eaten earlier that day.
I told her that we had wipes in the glove compartment and she went to help herself to one. I must admit she seemed to find it a real struggle to get into the pack and pull out the individual wipes. It took her ages to do and she became quiet frustrated but I wasn't able to help her as I was driving at the time.
Once she'd finally managed to break through the outer wrapping, I could smell a really weird aroma of fresh fruity apples. We suddenly realised at the same time that these are not your average sort of wipe. I'm used to having hand wipes which smell sort of lightly perfumed and I never expected that these would smell of fruit. My daughter loved it and it's actually encourage her to use them more often. Personally speaking, however, I'm not that keen on the smell as I don't particularly want to have my hands smelling of fruit.
The wipes are nice and large, very tough and strong and really moist. They are certainly large enough for my daughter to have to only use one, even if her hands are extra grimy and dirty. The wetness soon dries off on the skin and to be honest, even though the initial smell of the apples is pretty horrid, it doesn't last that long and soon wears off.
Overall, these are pretty good wipes and are also a brand I know well and trust. I think 79p was a bit of a bargain but sadly they are back up to full price again now. I have since gone back to using my old and trusted Tesco moist wipes but if these were ever on offer again then I'd certainly consider buying more. Read the complete review |

Tesco Loves Baby Cotton buds
by Listerbelle
Working in the medical profession, you'd think that I would know I should apply the adage that nothing smaller than an elbow should be placed into the human ear.
Unfortunately, I choose to ignore these words of wisdom (at least for myself). My weapon of choice? These Tesco Love Baby cotton buds.
Over the years I ... have tried many different brands of cottons buds. The two factors that determine which brand I buy are price and the product's quality.
I've been using Tesco Love Baby cotton buds for about 18 months. Being somewhat of a miser, it was the low price that caught my attention. I can't remember what I paid for that first container; the current price is 39p for a container of 100 cotton buds.
Obviously the cotton bud is a multipurpose item. I use them for two activities: the aforementioned ear toileting, and to apply moisturiser around my eyes prior to tinting my lashes.
I have no problem with the quality of these cotton buds. They are housed in a transparent plastic tub. The bud is made from 100% cotton that has never come apart on me. The long, white plastic stem is sturdy enough to remain straight as I use for the non-advised ear canal cleaning.
In summary, I'm pleased to have found these cotton buds. They serve me well - even when I'm using them for the unmentionable. Read the complete review |

Tesco Loves Baby Cotton buds
by l500589
I purchased a pack of 'Tesco Loves baby cotton buds' a few months back after they had been put on my shopping list by my wife. I know in the past I have purchased Johnsons cotton buds for her, but during my visit to Tesco I spotted this particular brand priced at such a bargain price that I could not resist changing brand - be it at my ... own peril!
A pack of 100 'Tesco loves baby cotton buds' costs just 39 pence, with a pack of 300 also available at the even better price of 80p. Johnson's cotton buds tend to cost about £1:70 for a pack of 200, so these are a real bargain. I decided to go for the 100 pack, as I had not tried this brand before and I knew that if my wife was not keen on them I would be sent back to the shop with my tail between my legs to purchase a pack of Johnson's cotton buds!
My wife uses cotton buds for many girly beauty activities, such as removing make-up, applying nail varnish, applying and adjusting mascara etc, all of which I cannot really comment on being a non make-up wearing bloke!
However I do use them regularly for cleaning my outer ear, and for general other cleaning and drying activities around the house, as they are such versatile and handy little objects!
Tesco loves baby cotton buds come in container similar to that of Johnsons. It is a stylish looking, strong cardboard construction at the base, white in colour, and has a strong transparent plastic 'dome shaped' cover at the top, which displays the soft white heads of the cotton buds. The packaging as a whole looks impressive, and has a clean feel to it, although the lid is a little loose, and is easily knocked off. The external sides of the cardboard tub have a picture of some nice fluffy clouds and some nice white fluffy sheep.
The cotton buds themselves are basically a white plastic stick of approx 3 inches in length, and at each end of the stick is a nice white padded bud of cotton. This bud of cotton is naturally absorbent, soft, and gentle, and is therefore absolutely ideal for using to clean areas of the body, such as the outer ear - although this is a dangerous area to be prodding about, and so great care is needed.
I have found this product from Tesco to be of a great quality. The cotton buds are fixed well to the ends of the plastic sticks, and do not fall off or unravel during use. Perhaps it is fair to say that there is a slight noticeable difference between the thickness of the cotton buds when compared to the same product from Johnsons, but this is not a concern, and if anything perhaps the Johnsons cotton buds are overly thick.
My wife has not complained to me about my purchase, and so next time I see 'cotton buds' on my shopping list, I will not hesitate to buy these again, with the only difference being that I would go for the 300 pack which offers even better value.
Thanks for reading
