... moving to a very noisy location (which features loud neighbours, buses, rubbish trucks and lots of cars) from a very quiet one, I found that I was being woken up by the slightest noise. You can get earplugs from lots of shops but they always seem to be made from foam, which I find are useless. The only ones that actually lower the noise level AND stay in my ears all night are Boots Muffles. The name explains exactly what they do. Rather than completely blocking out noise, they reduce and muffle it, allowing you to have much better sleep but meaning you can still hear your alarm clock in the morning.
