Pharma Nord is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of Dietary Supplements and Herbs.
They are a Danish company that was formed in 1982 and enjoy a world wide reputation for strength and quality of the supplement's they produce.

Bio- Pycnogenol is available in three different pack sizes-
30 tablets- price from- £10.13
90 tablets- price from-£ 21.83
150 tablets- price from- £35.19
The tablets are 40mg in strength.
Energy, protein, carbohydrate and fat negligible.

Dosage- 2 tablets to be taken twice a day for the first week.
There after - 2 tablets to be taken once a day.
The double dose of tablets the first week, are to get them into your system and so recieve the maximum benefits from the supplement.
They are sugar, yeast and gluten free and are suitable for vegetarians.

What is Pycnogenol?

It is made from the bark of French Maritime Pine Trees, which grow in the Landes Forest of Southwestern France.
It is a "Super" Antioxidant which contains multiple antioxidants which act together to stop cell damaging Free Radicals.

What is it for?

There has been extensive research into this unique supplement and it may help a variety of ailments or as with all vitamins, minerals, herbs etc.. it may not do much at all. As with everything in life "what works for one, may not work for another" there is no guarantee.

Its been said to-
Help lower Cholestrol in some people.
May help some Asthma sufferers.
Can help wounds heal quicker and so reduce scarring in some cases.
Especially when taken with L-Carnitine can help reduce the effects of ageing to a certain degree.
Has been known to help reduce redness of the skin on the face.

Why did I use it and how did it work for me?

I suffer very badly with M.E and have done for a very long time, so I took it for its Super Antioxidant properties and to help reduce the redness I get on my face(which my delightful sister puts down to Rudolph Syndrome as I was born on Dec 26th, yes she did get a slap for that comment).
It actually helps reduce high blood pressure and helps seal fragile veins, which in turn strengthens them, this is why it can help reduce redness of the face and it certainly helped me.

I personally found it an excellent supplement and take it intermittently, due to the fact I have to take soo many tablets.
Pharma Nord I have always found to be very helpful and they do have special offers at times.
