... travel a lot with my job. Sometimes I can be sat in airports or on aeroplanes for hours at a time. I noticed that at the end of some flights my ankles and feet were swollen and stiff and continued to be so for most of the next day. Scholls Flight Sock ... flight socks With all of the hype about these I am always amazed when i get onto an aeroplane that i seem to be about the only one wearing them. I know this because I see people in their shorts, although it s more tricky to decide on business flights when people are suited and booted. WHAT DO THEY DO? When on an aeroplane, the long periods of inactivity, combined with often cramped conditions and dehydration can cause circulatory problems including Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). DVT risks increase as you get older, during pregnancyand with a previous history of blood clots, but it is recommended that everyone wears the socks unless medically advised against it. The... Blood Pressure In General ... kidney problems or strokes high blood pressure can be even more dangerous for diabetics than for non-diabetics. If you are diabetic you should have your blood pressure checked at least twice a year to monitor changes and to ensure your blood pressure has not become high. Hartmann Tensoval Mobil ... was concerned about the fluctuations in my blood pressure. It goes up and down like a yo-yo, and having already suffered a minor stroke, am aware that my body needs looking after and regular checks. I also take blood thinning tablets, and medication to make the blood less sticky, and like to know that the medicines are doing their job.
