Having just read Dyana35226’s opinion in the Pregnancy and Vegetarianism section here, I felt compelled to offer an alternative view. Her opinion says that following a vegetarian diet in pregnancy “causes retardation, causes malnutrition” and is “harmful to the fetus”. This is scaremongering and untrue. The vegetarian diet is fine for pregnant women to follow, babies and children of all ages. A vegan diet is usually not recommended, as dairy produce provides an important part of what the body needs, but we are talking about vegetarianism here – no meat, no fish, no animal fats, but yes, we eat cheese, yoghurt, eggs and so on. ...

Little Treasure has been a veggie since she was weaned. I'm practicaly sure she has never eaten any meat products except for the time little Harry age 2 tried to feed her a ham butty at a birthday party.
