I am a typical example of person on yo-yo diet for many years. Name the diet and I would properly have tried it. I have tried food combining, taken fat absorber pills, appetite suppresant, british diet, cambridge diet and 3 day detox.

The truth is all these diets do work but perserverence is needed. I have benefit from these diets in the short term, I followed the instructions diligently, usually for a month, lost a pound or two and then I lapsed. When I loose 2 lbs, I will put back 4 lbs soon after.

They say neccessity is the mother of all invention, out of the neccessity to look good in my wedding gown, I throw away all the fad diets I have tried and decide to inculcate sensible eating habit.

The following are tips that I have accumulated in my search for a weightloss program. They are not fashionable fab diet, just sensible eating habit.

1. There is a saying- Eat till you feel you are 70% full. What it meant is to eat 30% lesser than your normal food intake.

2. Eat smaller but frequent meals. The action of eating smaller meals at a more frequent interval increase the body metabolism preventing excess food to be stored as fats. I would normally have 3 main meals which is breakfast, lunch and dinner. In between, I would snack on a fruit or a fruit bar.

3. Treat yourself to a sweet like chocolate once a week. Total deprivation from chocolate, sweets or ice cream would only make you crave for them and you will end up eating more.

4. I believe in the benefit of having different colour vegetables in my diet. The natural colour in vegetables possess different health benefit like example, carrots for beta carotene, green leaves for chlorophyll.

5. Exercise is important. Daily exercise like walking, running and cycling burn fat, improve our body metabolic rate and keep our heart healthy. It is important to exercise for more than 20 minutes to effectively burn our body fats.

6. I would normally consumed carbohyhdrate for lunch and protein dishes for dinner. My theory behind this is I believe carbohydrate takes longer to digest and as I move around more in the day, it will be used more effectively as energy.

I have been following this regime for the past 4 years, I have lost the amount of weight needed for my wedding gown and I have managed to maintain the right weight since. I feel much healthy and lighter and I don't binge eating now as I would treat myself to a chocolate and sweets once in a while.

The above are my testimonial and experience for a healthy diet and an effective weight loss program that have work for me. I have learned that to be effective in losing weight, I need to discover my own healthy eating habits, know what works for me and not go around trying all kinds of fad diets.

I lost 4 stone by following most of the advice that is in this review - for everyone out there whos on a diet keep up the good work but dont get majorly thin its not good for you
