If your anything like me and love all the nice things to eat, then read on.

I have tried every diet I have ever come across, from the slim fast plan to the cabbage soup diet and have just realised there isn't any get thin quick scheme anywhere that works.

So what did I do?
I went and joined the gym. I have been thinking of doing this for months and have tried (to no avail) to get my mates to come with me, as the thought of walking into a gym full of toned up women was always putting me off.
There was no way I could put on my shorts and work out infront of these madonna's.

I gave up smoking three years ago and the weight has really piled on me, so off I went.
It took me a few minutes to get up the bottle to walk in the leisure centre, but once through the door there was no turning back.
I walked up to the counter and asked to join the gym.(round of applause please).

I was taken in the gym to see a fitness instructor (whom I might add was sex on legs with a body to match) anyway, he asked me what I hoped to acheive and I told him I wanted to lose weight.
He asked me how often would I use the gym and when I said three times a week, advised me to have a membership which costs me 24.00 a month.
This may seem a lot but you do get a lot of advice and the use of the gym equipment. Also i can use any gym in the area and sauna's and swims too.

I was shown around the gym and shown how to use all the different machines.
Then I was asked to go back the day after with a towel and a bottle of water, the instructor said he would write me out a fitness plan.

The next day off I went,towel and water in hand.
I was told that to have a rapid weight loss plan.
I had to do 5 mins warm up on a lay down bike, then 15 mins walking with an upward gradient on the walking machine.
Then row 2000 metres on the rowing machine, in under 15mins, then 15 mins on the exercise bike and finally 6 m
ins level 4 on the stepper machine.

I was also set a challange, if I lost 10lbs in weight in a month I would get a months free membership to the gym.
This is given to the high achievers.
I have been going for two months now and I have won the member of the month challenge, my name is up on a board at the gym.
It's working!!

I will say that I feel a lot better in myself and that even though I ache sometimes this quickly wears off. Then there is a great feeling of well being and smugness.
Its not as hard as I thought it would be and I have made new friends there already.
There are some really physically fit women there, but they have all been friendly and encouraging, there are also women like me there to lose weight.
The instructor is very encouraging and friendly, he says if you don't go out of here with your face red, hair a mess and sweating, then your not burning calories.
I always leave looking knackered but know its doing good.
I think I've finally found something that suits me, because dieting doesn't help me and this way I can eat more or less the same and tone up into the bargin.

Say it, believe it, do it.
This is written on the boards hanging from the roof of the gym as you walk in.
I'm hooked, so this year when I go to the beach I will have my swiming costume on.

Go for it lose weight the fun way.

I had to give up my membership when we got the mortgage, hopefully in six months time ill be able to take it up again, until its the videos for me.
