I've been a vegetarian for over 16 years now and that means that since the age of 4 I haven't eaten any meat. To help tell you my story I have seperated this opinion into my personal story and what I went through with my family and also the bare facts about how to be safe - for those who are maybe the parent or a new vegetarian. Yes, human beings are omnivores. The easiest way to get all the nutrients your body needs is to follow a healthy, balanced diet with items from all the main food groups, and as some of those groups are largely made up from meat and fish products, then naturally it is easier to do so on a diet that includes these products. Unfortunately, meat products do contain some of the highest fat and cholesterol-building substances available in foods, but eliminate or cut down on those and you’re on the way to a healthy diet. Instead of arguing why meat is bad for you, I’m going to argue why a plant-based diet is GOOD for you. I’m not belittling a healthy, balanced diet, including meat, I’m just stating that in my opinion, a wholly plant based one can be an equally healthy way to live. A bit about hypocrites- First of all, I recently had to deal with a situation I found rather amusing.
