Home Birth Versus Hospital BirthNewest Review: ... is labour. And thank goodness, there were options out there for people like me, who felt like the pain was waaaay too much. That I feel is a great advantage to giving irth in a hospital! 3. Going into labour, usually, is'nt planned. So for all you know, it could start at 1am and literally last hours on end. I've given this a 5 star as I think it's very important for women to be able to choose whether they would like to give birth at home or in a hospital depending on what feels right for them. However I do feel that there has to be exceptions on this! But I will dwelve into this further down.... HOSPITAL BIRTH ADVANTAGES 1. First of all there will always be a nurse, doctor or consultant available straight away if something goes wrong. Giving birth, obviously, is not always a straight forward thing. Complications can occur and occasionally, turn into emergencies. If you are at the hospital they will be able to give ... Read the complete review

Ok, this is from the man's perspective, and I appreciate I didn't have to do the hard work, but it's still valid! We had our first son in the hospital, and were well cared for, although occasionally spent long periods of time alone not quite knowing what was going on. The labour lasted a few days, and when our son was born I was sent home (no choice) in the evening. I had a great night's sleep and zoomed up to the hospital, only to find my wife on the verge of collapse from her 4th night in a row with no sleep. It seemed unfair I couldn't be there to help, so with baby number two we had a home-birth. The home-birth was so chilled out it was amazing. Claire was ... Read the complete review

My first child was a planned hospital birth. I was naive and didn't know much about home births at this time and I also didn't know that I could have turned down an induction if I wanted. Everything was all very new as is a first pregnancy and it all went by in such a whirlwind. By the time I was 8 days overdue I was booked in for an induction on the 12th day and nothing else was said. I wasn't given an option, it was just done. On the 12th day I went into hospital at the appointed time and I had Noah, Malachi on the 15th day of being overdue. I spent quite a long period of that time being lied flat on a bed either attached to a monitor or having a pessary popped ... Read the complete review

When I was expecting my baby I was adamant I wanted a home delivery mainly because I'd become very scared of the famous MRSA and also because I believed it would be a more relaxed experience and we would be able to enjoy being a family in our home without the stress of getting to hospital. My decision was not taken too well by my husband. How disappointed was I! And when I finally managed to convince him and reassure him with the help of my midwife, I then had to deal with the disapprovement of my family. I decided to ignore them. When the contractions started I was at home trying to get some rest as I'd been feeling incredibly tired and ... Read the complete review

All three of my children were born at home. This was my choice and exactly what I had wanted even with my first baby. I knew other people who had experienced a home birth and thought it sounded like the sort of birthing experience I would like. I did my research so I knew what rights I had concerning a home birth. Everyone is entitled to deliver at home age and circumstances bear no significance but you may be advised to have a hospital birth depending on your personal circumstances. Also in some areas they may try and discourage you from having a home birth due to staffing issues. My first pregnancy was almost a text book pregnancy and the day after my ...
