Advantages: Knowing that all the help you need in case of an emergency is close at hand

Disadvantages: Not being in the comfort of my own home

I had hospital births for both my daughters. With my first pregnancy I went to hospital at 5am when my water broke and was checked but the baby had not engaged yet. The doctors and nurses kept checking on me until 12noon when they induced labor. And I gave birth at 5.54pm to a healthy baby girl with the help of my doctor and nurses. From 5am till I gave birth I got excellent care from the hospital staff and was treated really well.

The friendliness of the hospital staff helped me be relaxed and stay calm, and that helped me and my partner a lot. And the most useful part for me about the hospital birth the first time was that during my 2 day stay at the hospital the nurses taught me how to take care of my brand new baby (which I didn't have a clue about!).

My second baby was in breech position and I had to have a C-section done. This time too my baby and I were taken very good care of, and I'm glad that I chose a hospital birth.

This worked really well for me, and if I have to do it again I will definitely choose a hospital birth again.

Summary: My hospital birth was a great experience

Good for you! I think hospital birth is best. Mine wasn't a great experience but things went wrong, so it was definitely the safest place to be.
