The pack contains 8 tablets and the initial adult dose is 2 tablets and a further tablet after each "episode"to a maximum of 8 capsules in 24 hours. As I have taken 6 on some occasions- you will see why it can get expensive- but as I say if it works you don't mind- you can't mind. Don't misunderstand this- I am not talking 6 tablets because of the quality of Imodium, but beca...more

Premium Review Immodium: Essential Medicine (488 words)

Rating:

The worst thing about having an upset stomach I think is the cramps I get with them, sometimes I find myself having to hit the wall to allievate some of the pain. Horray for immodium is all I can say. I remember before immodium I used to have Collis Brownes liquid which always used to mellow me out and give my stomach a nice comfortable feeling, this was the morphine it contained of course. Now that immodium is available you get a cure to your upset stomach without all the potenital side affects that mophine could deliver. Immodiums active ingredient is loperamide hydrochoride 2mg. Basically this drug binds to the opioid receptors in your large ...  Read the complete review

A little something for the holiday sir/madam Travel broadens the mind, and loosens the bowels Imodium Well this is what I take, diarrhoea Imodium. I have taken this for as long as I remember I have suffered occasionally with diarrhoea on holiday and at home and I find Imodium works well for me its effective quickly (like sticking a cork up the!) My husband finds it almost too effective can't go ? for ages after! I take the capsule form doesn't taste too pleasant but if it cures the runs! Nothing worse than having diarrhoea on holiday ,especially as we are usually in the countryside on long walks, no toilet just ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Immodium: For when the flood gates open (263 words)
by - written on 01/08/08 (Very useful, 154 readings)
Rating:

Most of the time I oculd be described as someone with a cast iron stomach, I can usually eat anything and feel fine, however like everyone, form time to time I do suffer a stomach upset and the flood gates open!!! A few years ago I went on holiday with a couple of friends and spent a week eating loads of meat and not drinking nearly enough (well not hydrating fluids anyway) and I suffered from terrible constipation the day we were flying home. Flying in that state is horribly uncomfortable, and ever since I have always taken what I refer to as stoppers and starters whenever I travel. As I'm sure you can imagine, Immodium comes into the stoppers ...  Read the complete review

**Have you ever felt that the world is dropping out of your bottom? (Isn't that the other way around?) **Ever been caught with the clenched buttock syndrome in public? **Has the ominous rumble of your stomach ever signalled a Vesuvius type eruption, and you've been helpless to do anything other than sit and groan on the loo for what seems like hours, only to find when you think it's all over, it starts again? **Has the lethal combination of a nights drinking, and an obscure burger van kebab resulted in a next day holiday on the toilet? **Or did you simply make the unfortunate mistake of believing that you was going to be the only one ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Immodium: Can't leave home without it (272 words)

I have suffered and have been diagnosed with IBS-D for about eighteen months and in this time have tried every anti-diarrhoea tablet I have come across- from many supermarkets own brands to other brand names. On every single packet it says the same under ingredients- 2mg loperamide hydrochloride-so why Imodium always works the best I cannot answer- but it does. I don't want this to be the case as the price in my local supermarket is 96p for their own brand, whereas the Imodium is £3.95. But when you have diarrhoea it isn't about price it's about what works.
