Disadvantages: Pricey compared to own barnd versions

Most of the time I oculd be described as someone with a cast iron stomach, I can usually eat anything and feel fine, however like everyone, form time to time I do suffer a stomach upset and the flood gates open!!!

A few years ago I went on holiday with a couple of friends and spent a week eating loads of meat and not drinking nearly enough (well not hydrating fluids anyway) and I suffered from terrible constipation the day we were flying home. Flying in that state is horribly uncomfortable, and ever since I have always taken what I refer to as stoppers and starters whenever I travel.

As I'm sure you can imagine, Immodium comes into the stoppers category. They claim to be fast acting and effective. In my experience this is fairly true. Sometimes just one dose will do the job, sometimes more doses are required but they do the job.

If you were looking to buy these, then from the point of view of whether they work I would recommend them but I would have to add a big however.... They are often considerably more expensive than own brand stoppers and having compared a few, I have yet to find any where the active ingredients differ hugely. I have also unfortunately had to use different own barnd versions and I must say, they all work in the same way. As such I would have to say that overall I wouldn't recommend Immodium, not on functionality but on price, hence the three star rating.

Summary: They will certainly do the job but at a higher price than others.
