Advantages: Natural found in your body, easy to use, excellent results

Disadvantages: Its not the cheapest

Creatine is a naturally occuring substance found in the body as is used along with ATP (adenosine tri phosphate) to aid explosive events e.g sprinting, weight lifting etc.
However the problem is your stores only last for a few seconds or so and then become gradually depleted. The other problem is it takes the body quite a while to resynthesise these stores (hence why you can sprint at the same speed over and over again)

Therefore by taking creatine suppliments, it will aid the resynthesis of these stores, thus allowing you to train that bit harder. (Note: it will not make you faster it will just allow you to train for longer). The best example I can give is; I used to do a lot of weight training and I would find that I would for example do three 3x10 sets of 70kg bench press, after which I would be really lactised and would have to stop. When I started to take creatine, I could only lift the same weight (70kg but I could do 5x10 sets. And this is the point of creatine, it will not make you lift heavier weights, it just lets you train that bit harder.
What else does it do? Well creatine holds alot more water in your muscles, thus giving the illusion that you are bigger. In fact for me this change was quite dramatic as I weighed a consistant 12 stone while training without it, and then went upto 13.3 stone after 6 weeks when using it! A lot of people take it for this reason alone and infact now on tv they're using it in facial products because of this plumping effect.

How to use it:
You initially go through a loading phase for the first two weeks which amounts to 2/3 big heaped spoonfuls. after two weeks you just use 1 spoonful. Creatine is just like protein shakes, if you don't use it (i'e you dont train) you just lose it (i.e down the toilet!). You can add it to drinks and my big tip is take it with Grape Juice as this is the most efficient drink for maximum absorption into your body. Don't worry if not, water is fine. Normally you would do three months on threemonths off. I recommend this as Creatine like regular supplements or household drugs (paracetemol) does have to go through your liver so its good to give it a rest.

Dangers?
Creatine has not been found to be dangerous at all (please read about it) but from my experiences here are a few tips:

1) I would definitely take it along with something like Glucosamine (Good for your joints). The reason being is Creatine can dry your joints out slighty as it effects the synovial fluid in your joints, Glucosamine will combat this
2) As mentioned aboove make sure you give you body a rest from it. 3 months on three months off (read the guidelines on the packet for different suppliers)

3) Don't go crazy with your training! This is a supplement you can still over do it if you train too hard!
4) Drink lots of water!


In conclusion, I've found this product to be brilliant for my training and really gave me the boost I needed. I hope this review helps and gives you the confidence to give it a try. Its ideal for those who train really hard but find it hard to bulk up or just need a little boost to your training.

I have never found a problem with bulking up my body, preferring as I do MSG over ATP found abundantly in Chinese takeaways!
