P90X is a 90 day home fitness workout/life altering DVD, book and nutritional guide. P90X has changed my life for the better and I have found a new vigour and lease on life. Before I started this incredible and highly motivating workout I lived a very sedentary life style and found that my chair was becoming moulded to the shape of my rather large rear end! I first heard about P90X in that Jason mraz song about being lazy (of all places), and then thought to look it up and see what the fuss was all about. I was thoroughly impressed and told my partner about it. Low and behold she went out and bought it, and it is not cheap at around the £110 mark but you get what you pay for I suppose. In this price you get: -All 12 diverse workout DVD's -the Three Phase comprehensive notional plan (although they do use supplements, I tend to use my own for this) -The Fitness Guide with extra tips on maximising your workout -A Calendar to help you track your workouts and progress -The "muscle Confusion" techniques to help you accelerate you weight loss and/or muscle gain - An online coach who has been through the course not just once, mine had done it 4 times! - And the always engaging Tony Horton The work outs are broken up into set week long schedules so as to enforce the "muscle Confusion" and trust me it works and you will come to both loath the work out time and long for it, as Tony say for the Ab RipperX DVD "I hate it but I love it!" and it is so true. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids/recovery drinks as the workouts WILL take it out of you, and you don't want to be suffering with muscle fatigue and soreness the next day. Each of the workouts is aimed at particular areas of muscle and works them to the point of exhaustion but without killing you. The workouts last from between one hour and one and half hours and are as follows: -How to Bring it (instructional overview) -Chest and Back -Plyometrics (jump training) -Shoulders and Arms -Yoga X -Legs and Back -Kenpo X -X Stretch -Core Synergistic -Chest and Shoulders -Back and Biceps -Cardio X -Ab RipperX As you can see with it being a 90 day program if you think you would get bored doing it you are very, very wrong and you will soon find your favourite workouts and find the ones you are not so good at yet still you will push yourself to "BRING IT" to every work out! My personal favourite workout is yoga X! I know there are a lot of guys out there who are how I used to be and think yoga is not my thing it's just weird and how is stretching going to help anyway.....just give it a chance and I will tell you now I sweated more in Yoga X than in ANY of the other workouts! Now when you consider I started this workout program weighing in at a hefty almost 19 stone that's 266 lbs and after completing the 90 days I was down to 15 stone 10 that's 220 lbs so I lost 46 lbs! Now during the workout I notice I did not lose much weight but my body shape was changing dramatically and it wasn't until I passed the 60 day mark that the weight came off but by that point I had gone from wearing a size 40 trouser to a size 34! I am a P90X graduate and will be BRINGING IT every day! Will you?
