Around Christmas time I wanted to lose some weight and as I have lost weight in the past and maintained it I decided that I would give Slim Fast a go. As it turned out Slim Fast was very successful for me and in just 3 weeks I lost half a stone which I have since managed to keep off so far. I tried numerous Slim Fast products and this chocolate powder was one that I tried.

This chocolate milkshake powder comes in a tub with a plastic lid and each tub has a plastic scoop. I like that because it means I do not have to use the same scoop for different flavours of powder.

This milkshake mix is very simple to make up, just add two levelled scoops and mix with 250ml of very cold skimmed milk. Other milks can be used but obviously this will increase the amount of calories in this drink. I have found that if the milk is left to warm a little that these milkshakes are nowhere near as tasty as when they are ice cold.

The Slim Fast plan is very simple to follow. I chose to have milkshakes for breakfast & lunch and then have two snacks a day as well as healthy dinner in the evening. On a couple of occasions I had takeaways during my three weeks but I still managed to lose the half a stone I was aiming for. To stop myself from getting too bored I tried a variety of Slim Fast products and this chocolate powder was one that I used to make 4 days worth of milkshakes in total and there was some mix left over. Each milkshake worked out at around 60-70p instead of £1.50 that the ready to drink milkshakes cost. I mixed my milkshakes in to shaker to ensure that there was no yucky bits left in the mix. This only took a few seconds and was great.

I quite like this flavour, it is not my favourite but its close! I think that this does taste quite chocolatey but after a little while of drinking this flavour I begun to start disliking it a little. I would find that the final few mouthfuls were always a bit of a chore to drink as I had stopped enjoying it so much. This is a little bit artificial and while I did enjoying these milkshakes I only used them for a few days in total of my three weeks as the chocolatey flavour got a little bit boring and I fancied something different.

Overall I enjoyed the Slim Fast plan and I will definitely use it again in the future when I want to shift a few extra pounds. I was a little hungry and bored towards the end of my three week stint but then I was only intending on following the plan for a few weeks anyway!
