I have had slim fast for a few months, but it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Being so widely available and is sold at such a high price, I thought it should work quite well. Despite of following all the instructions, it failed to work, which is really disappointing.

The first few days of the diet seems to work, as I lost about 2 lbs in the first few days. However, I think it is just a lost of water, as the blood sugar level falls and in order to maintain the concentration the body has to get rid of some water, hence the weight loss. I think that by dieting, it has merely lowered by metabolism, and did nothing useful.

The best way to diet, I think, is to throw away the scales and eat loads of veg. Take a walk everyday after supper - that should give you a steady weight loss - and permanant as well if you stick to it.

I have received a recipe from my friend, who claimed that she lost 8 pounds in three days. HOpe this helps:

LOSE 10 POUNDS IN 3 DAYS
First Day
Breakfast: Black coffee or tea, 1/2 grapefruit, 1slice of toast, 2 tablespoons peanut butter.
Lunch: 1/2 cup tuna, 1 slice toast, coffee or tea
Dinner: 2 slices any type of meat (about 3 ozs.), 1cup string beans, 1 cup beets, 1 small apple, 1 cup vanilla ice cream.
Second Day
Breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 banana, 1 slice toast, black coffee or tea
Lunch: 1 cup cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers
Dinner: 2 hot dogs, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream.
Third Day
Breakfast: 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 small apple, black coffee or tea.
Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice toast
Dinner: 1 cup tuna, 1 cup beets, 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 cantaloupe, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream.
It works on chemical breakdown and is proven. Do not vary or substitute any of the above foods. Salt and
pepper may be used-but no other seasoning. Where no quantity is given, there are no re
strictions other
than common sense this diet is to be used 3 days at a time.
In 3 days you will lose 10lbs. After 3 days of dieting you can eat normal food, but do not over do it. After your 4 days of normal eating, start back on your 3 day diet. You can lose up to 40 lbs. in a month...if you stick to it. This is a safe diet. REMEMBER Do not snack between meals.
