Superdrug Lip Therapy Aloe Vera
Advantages: Aloe vera soothes lips, not noticable that im wearing it
Disadvantages: Tin is hard to get into, no taste
I admit it, I am a lip balm hoarder. Every year I buy lip balm after lip balm despite owning several tins and sticks, I just can't help myself. One of the ones I have tried this winter is this Superdrug lip therapy green tin.
The lip balm is available to purchase from Superdrug, either in store or online for just 99p. The little green tin, as it is called, also has a sister tin 'the little pink tin' if you are after something a little different.
This little green tin is exactly that. Superdrug have got the product name spot on, I'm not sure whether they just couldn't come up with names for the product or what not, but it's straight to the point. The packaging is made from a thin type of metal and is a bright green colour, on the lid of the tin is the metallic wording of the product name, it also states that it is aloe vera. The nice looking packaging is let down by the opening process, it is a pain. To get the lid off I usually find myself having to dig my nails between the top and bottom sections of the tin as it hardly ever allows me to twist it open.
After getting into the tin, you are met with what looks exactly like Vaseline, the balm has the same musty, off clear colour. The texture is very waxy but it isn't sticky to touch, it is quite soft. To apply the balm you simply massage your finger over the top of it to get an adequate amount on your finger then simply rub it over your lips. There isn't much of a flavour to this lip balm, if anything there is a faint taste of apple but it definitely isn't overbearing.
The lip balm doesn't feel greasy on my lips when I apply it and it dries in quite quickly. Although it dries quite quickly it still leaves my lips feeling moist and refreshed for quite some time. I think the aloe vera contents have something to do with that as it is well known for having soothing, healing and rejuvenating properties and used in this lip balm really does leave my lips feeling great. Although I apply the lip balm throughout the day, it doesn't leave any appearance on my lips, they don't look as dry as normal but at the same time, they don't look shiny or like I'm wearing anything on them.
Although there isn't much of a taste to the lip balm and the packaging is quite hard to get into, I'd definitely recommend this lip balm. The soothing properties mean that it's great to use on dry or chapped lips and it is pleasant to use.
