Deep Vein thrombosis or DVT hit the headlines a few years ago when the media picked up that a few people might have died after getting blood clots on long haul flights. Because these people had been sitting in Economy class, with little encouragement or opportunity to move around, DVT got the nickname "Economy Class Syndrome", and there was a spate of publicity about it over a period of a few months.
