Advantages: Nose sprays are the way forward
Disadvantages: Not much choice of effective relief
My body seems to go through a strange yearly illness cycle, beginning of spring right through until the end of summer is Hayfever time.
I rememer when i was younger I never had hayfever but I was told it can affect people in 7 year cycles but I think this is an old wives tale as I have had mine for at least 10 years now.
I tried tablets but they took long to take effect and then did little to ease the discomfort as well as not being able to drive while on most of them. I tried the natural way of simply washing my eyes out, blowing my nose etc to see if that helped but to no avail.
And then I struck upon something that had been a part of my life for so long.
When I was younger I suffered from nosebleeds and had to use a nosespray twice a day, every day until I had my nose cauterised before I hit my teens. So I bought a nose spray from Superdrug and the side effects all went away. I have no idea why but it seemed to work best if, before leaving the hosue for the day, I went outside for 5 minutes and took some deep breathes and then used the nose spray. It makes your nose run and can make you sneeze a little but I am pretty much set for the day.
I always carry it around on the days where the pollen is high because I will need to use it again but it is fantastic. Doesn't cost as much to buy the better brands (around £4.50 eash) and you can usually get them on buy one get one free offers. Cheaper than the tablets and last a lot longer with better effects.
Summary: Try different products to see which works for you
