In growing hairs are common in both men and women who shave parts of there bodys, an in growing hair can occur on any part of the body, more commonly on the faces of men as they are the most often shaved part of all.

An in growing hair occurs when a layer of skin has been allowed to develop over a hair follicle, stopping the hair from growing out through the hair follicle.

When this happens the hair does not just not grow it grows under the skin instead and because the body sees this as a foreign body it gets infected and swolen, producing a spot like lump.

If left untreated it can turn into an abses.
You can get a cream from your doctor which will burn away the hair and clear up any infection.

I have found that prevention is less painful than cure, its very simple realy, expoliating the skin with either an exfoliating sponge, glove or body wash will stop the skin growing over the hair folicle and reduce this problem. Also oberve new hair growth and if it looks like the hair hasnt made it through the skin gently squeeze the area like you would with a spot and you will see the hair pop out.

Summary: happens more often with waxing as hair takes longer to grow back
