8 years old boy weighs 15 stones. Shocking.

In England alone 30,000 deaths are caused by obesity every year. This number is likely to increase in the future.

Some more facts related to overweight.

In the last quarter of century obese rates have increased by fivefold. 1 in 5 people are obese and 75% are overweight.

In same time scale obesity in children has increased by 20%. 10% of six years old are obese. This number doubles when you look at 15 years old.

What the hell is going on? Britain is becoming fat.

People eat more than animals. Fast food and junk food culture is destroying peoples healths. Who do you blame? Well I blame all the adults as well as the government. Biggest area to blame is corporate sector. Profits are put ahead of peoples health.

Obesity causes many problems which could lead to early death. cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, sleep apnoea and osteoarthritis are just few things that can affect fat people.

The following formula is used to determine obesity in people.

BMI
BMI, or Body Mass Index is calculated by dividing a persons weight in kilograms by the square of his/her height in metres (BMI = kg / m2).

A BMI less than 18.5 is underweight
A BMI of 18.5 - 24.9 is normal weight
A BMI of 25.0 - 29.9 is overweight
A BMI of 30.0 - 39.9 is obese
A BMI of 40.0 or higher is severely obese
I was shocked to see this little boy on TV. He is not the only one who weighs 15 stones.
