~Asda Home Pregnancy Tests~
These pregnancy tests are available in a pack of 2. Asda promote them as being easy to use as they can be used in one step - no mixing or measuring! Asda claim that these tests are 99% accurate and will provide you with a result within 3 minutes. These tests can be used up to 4 days before your period is due. It is recommended that you use the test first thing in the morning though a result can still be obtained from using it during the day.
These pregnancy tests are designed to pick up hormones within your urine and therefore give you a positive, negative or if the test is faulty, an invalid result. Each box contains 2, individually packaged pregnancy tests and an information leaflet with the important 'scenario' and usage information. Each test is a wand with an absorbant tip and viewing window.
These pregnancy tests can be used in two ways after removing the cap :
*Pee into a cup or container and dip the test in for 10 seconds.
*Hold the test in your urine stream until wet
Once you have carried out one of the above steps, replace the cap and sit the test on a flat surface. If you are pregnant, two lines will show up in the view window. If you aren't, there will only be one line to prove that the test has worked.
A 2pk of pregnancy tests are available instore or from www.asda.com. They are priced at £3.57.
~My Thoughts~
Recently I haven't been feeling very well and have had numerous pregnancy symptoms including being around 5weeks late. I have carried out a few pregnancy tests over the course of the past month and am waiting to hear back from the doctors about a sample I have given them.
As we are trying to conceive, I am no stranger to pregnancy tests. I have used various brands and usually find that the cheaper ones are just as reliable as the likes of Clearblue and First Response. The reason I go back to the Asda tests is that these are the only tests which picked up my pregnancy the first time around so I feel more drawn to them. They are quite cheap too compared to other brands.
These tests are very easy to use and I generally prefer the 'stream' method as I don't like peeing in cups or containers to be honest! The results are very evident within a minute or so and viewing window fills up with a purple colour. I have never had a dud test and the test confirmation line has always appeared as it should. Recently (said with a sad face), my tests have been negative. If however, my symptoms carry on, I will be getting a blood test to determine if I am pregnant or not though I have full faith in these tests and will just need to keep trying until I get a positive test!
When I was pregnant with my son, I bought a pack of these tests. I carried out the first test in the toilets of Asda and got a faint and a strong purple line. I carried out the next text the following morning and had two strong lines. I was pregnant! I had estimated I was about 5 weeks gone but at an emergency scan, I was told I was 2 weeks ahead of myself and had only been 3 weeks gone when I took the test. Very reliable early on as the more expensive tests did NOT pick up on my early pregnancy.
Overall I can recommend these Asda Pregnancy Tests. They are clear, easy to use and not too expensive which is ideal if you go through as many as I do! The instruction leaflet is easy to follow as well if you are new to taking tests! I have used 4 Asda tests in the past month and had clear 'negative' results each time despite my symptoms. If the situation changes, I will update my review.
I hope to inform you of a positive result soon so keep your fingers crossed for me!
Thanks for reading :)
Summary: lets hope for a positive result next time!
