Asda Home Pregnancy Test
Advantages: reliable and easy to use
We have been trying for a baby for a few months and we have little money to spare and will have even less once we have a new family addition and so we don't want to spend a fortune buying pregnancy tests. Of course you always hope that the first test you buy will come back positive and then the £8 you have spent on a leading brand will seem like little money but that isn't always the case. Sometimes it can take months and months to get a positive test and sometimes this doesn't even mean you'll use just one test a month, you may even take several so it can soon be a costly affair. This was why we bought these from Asda as they cost £3.50 and you get two in the pack. I know you can buy a bulk lot of about 10 for £1 or something ridiculous from Ebay but I would rather know the brand and I trust Asda so think £3.50 for two is fine.
When you use the test it is recommended to use it first thing in the morning. This is because it is triggered by the hormone and that hormone is particularly more high in the morning, also don't drink a lot before using it either as that can water down the concentration level of the hormone too so best to use this when you first wake up before you have a drink. If you are further along in pregnancy it won't really matter what time of day you use it as your hormone level will be high anyway but in the early days it can be difficult to pick up on after morning. This test can detect pregnancy up to 4 days before your period is due so if you are unsure of your dates or if you're too excited and anxious to wait it can be a God send.
This is an easy test to use. You don't need to do anything difficult just wee! You remove the cap and then either wee directly onto the test stick which had been covered by the cap or you can wee into a container and then dip the strip into the container to soak it up. You then replace the cap and put it on a flat surface. The liquid will work it's way up the strip until it reaches the test window. This only takes a matter of seconds, a minute maximum. When it reaches the window it will indicate if you are pregnant or not. It will show 2 lines if you are pregnant and just 1 if you are not. It's important that you know this, some people may see a line and think that means they are pregnant so you must read the leaflet so you can see what it all means. It has to show one line as that is a test line to prove that the test worked. It's the second line that is the important one.
Reading the test can sometimes be difficult. If you are very, very early on in pregnancy then the line is only very faint and sometimes it can mean you are a bit unsure, are you imagining that line or not? If you are unsure whether there is one it's best to leave it another day or so and then the next time you use it if you are pregnant then the line should show stronger. It is as simple as that!
I think that these are very reliable pregnancy tests and very simple to use too. There are all kinds of different tests out there trying to entice you to buy them such as ones which claim that they can tell you how far gone you are and ones which can tell you earlier than others and perhaps they are decent but the test cannot really tell you how far gone you are only a scan can do that and at the end of the day the question you really want to know is whether you are pregnant or not so these are fine!
I like that you don't have to wait a long time for the result, sometimes just those 30 seconds waiting can seem like a life time as you wait and watch the window wondering if your lives are going to take a new road or not so these are fast.
It is good that they do not cost much money so that people can afford them especially if they are trying for a long time, you don't want to spend a lot of money on pregnancy tests if you can help it so being able to buy two at a reasonable price from a known supermarket is great.
This is a reliable test so I recommend these to you if you are trying to conceive or think you are pregnant. I would be buying more if I needed to as they were so reliable but I don't need to as I got my 2 lines!
Summary: Very reliable, why pay more?
