I use a fair amount of hydrocortisone cream in my house for some reason. This sounds awful, but recently one of my cats got fleas and I had some terrible bites around both of my ankles. I wasnt sure what they were at first until I noticed that one of the cats was scratching a lot too, and then the penny dropped. I bought this one percent hydrocortisone cream from Asada and it was the pharmacist in there who recommend this cream to me as she said it was an excellent remedy for bites and stings. My bites were so bad that some of them became infected and I had to be prescribed antibiotics, but that's another story. This cream comes in a fairly plain looking cardboard box and inside is the tube of hydrocortisone cream itself. You have to pierce the end of the tube with the outer part of the top in order to get a hole to get the cream out. The cream is white and white and quite thick and the instructions tell you to use this cream sparingly. it is to be applied to the affected area up to three times per day and I have to admit that the results fr me personally were pretty quick and quite dramatic. I felt an almost instant relief from the need to have to scratch at my ankles and though the urge to scratch the itch came back abut two hours after application I simply applied another thin layer and the urge had disappeared. I have also used this (even ore sparingly) on my daughter's' eczema on the inside of her elbow, where it is at its worst. It's important not to apply this cream to broken skin and under no circumstances should you apply it to any part of your face. I have to admit that I have been very impressed with this hydrocortisone cream. It costs only three pounds a tube, it's almost instantly effective and it has a very long shelf life. Gone are the days when I used to have to get this on prescription as it's so much easier if I can simply buy this over the counter. Very highly recommended.
