Newest Review: ... lenses and glasses and ASDA offered me a good price for contact lenses and solution. I find there service very very slow, this could be due to my prescription, but I often run out of solution because i've waited almost 2 weeks for them to send me my lenses and solution. The last time I ordered from them I waited about a week, then my lenses arrived but with no solution- with a note saying they had run out. Luckily they didn't charge me extra, but then had to go out and buy solution at a greater cost. They have never got my prescription wrong and they are the cheapest around, so i will continue to use them. It would be great if ASDA had s... more

Express Review on Asda Opticians

I have worn glasses for 25 years and have always been very careful with them. After the Daily Mail review last year I decided to go to ASDA for my new glasses. I selected vari vocals with scratch resistant lenses, and was advised to take the £200.00 glasses which be a much better quality than the £100.00 glasses advertised. After approximately 10 months I noticed I was getting tiny scratches on the lenses. ASDA's reponse was to blame me for the way I cared for my glasses.I have read other reviews online and can only endorse the opinion of having an excellent eye test but supplied with very poor quality lenses.

This is a review of Asda opticians and my experience of the contact lens assessment and the procedure that you have to go through in order to buy contact lenses. I chose Asda opticians for several reasons: they were recommended to me by a family member, the store was located a short bus ride away and they seemed to be the cheapest around when it came to contact lenses. The Asda store I'm writing about is the big Asda Walmart Superstore in Huyton near Liverpool. It's so big that when you're timing your journey for any appointment you should take into account the time it takes you to get from the entrance to the actual opticians within the store - possibly a ten minute ...  Read the complete review

The big Asda Walmart stores provide an instore opticians. You can search for one close to you using thier website. I was lucky enough to live less than 2 miles from one of the larger Asda Walmart supercentres. I wear contact lenses and glasses and it had been a couple of years since my last checkup. Strapped for cash, I looked for a cheaper alternative to the expensive high street brands. Asda were offering Contact lens fittings for £15 and a eye test for £15. I booked both and they fitted me in within a few days. This was brilliant because I have known to expect to wait a week or two before getting an appointment with an optician. ...  Read the complete review

I was fortunate not to need glasses until later in life. It all started with my vision not being quite as sharp as it had always been, so thought I'd better book an eye test. The optician confirmed I had what they called "age deterioration" - in other words, I was getting old! To make me feel better she said it usually happed around age 43 and, as I was well past that, had had a good innings. I can't say her statement made me feel any better. That first eye test happened a few years ago and I have had numerous eye tests since then at various opticians. Although the service I received was always okay, it was never that good that I felt compelled ...  Read the complete review
