Asda OpticiansNewest Review: ... need to have my eyes tested for varifocals as I hadn't bought any from them. The assistant explained that as they knew my prescription all I would need to do was choose new frames and they would be able to make me up a pair. I chose a pair of Morgan designer frames with a nice chrome case and although slightly more expensive than the £99 I had paid for my other glasses, they were certainly ... more |

I was fortunate not to need glasses until later in life. It all started with my vision not being quite as sharp as it had always been, so thought I'd better book an eye test. The optician confirmed I had what they called "age deterioration" - in other words, I was getting old! To make me feel better she said it usually happed around age 43 and, as I was well past that, had had a good innings. I can't say her statement made me feel any better. That first eye test happened a few years ago and I have had numerous eye tests since then at various opticians. Although the service I received was always okay, it was never that good that I felt compelled ... Read the complete review

I live near one of the biggest Asdas in Hampshire and it has a large opticians included in the store. My partner has been nagging me for ages to book an eye test, as i kept complaining of head aches and strained eyes when driving. So i went on with my shopping. However 15 minutes later one of the Asda staff announced again over the loud speaker that they had the eye tests available for £9.99 and there were still appointments available. So ... i booked an appointment at asda opticians and i could not believe the how quick i could be fitted in. on arrival for the appointment the tests were clearly explained as to what they were aiming to achieve. and was made to feel comfortable and at ease. when going in for my visual test to see or not see in my case the optician explained what i should be looking for in respect to if a letter should be clearer, sharper, or appear smaller. i have not had this explained before in previouse eye tests. after the tests were completed the optician told me in laymens terms what was wrong with my eyes and how they were to be corrected. the help in picking the glasses by one of the ... I work a lot with computers and, unfortunately, this has left me a certain 'fuzziness' at long-distance (especially after a long day at the office). The last time I visited the opticians was around ten years ago, so I booked myself in to the local Asda opticians for a check up. Overall I must say that I was thoroughly impressed! Some of the friends and family I spoke with were a little snobby about a supermarket opticians but the service was first rate, the check up was very thorough and the costs were very reasonable! I booked the appointment and was given a generous amount of time with the optician. The appointment was unhurried and ... Read the complete review
