Having been with my old opticians since childhood, I never really shopped around before now and the reason I decided to now is that I no longer buy monthly contact lenses on direct debit as I wear my glasses most of the time now. However, I do want some daily disposables for special occasions and decided to try Asda out to see what they could offer. The reason for Asda is the free eye test voucher I got from the internet and I had already heard good things about the service and its professionalism. I can confirm that they were right.

I used my free eye test voucher last week and they were good enough to throw in my lenses check at the same time, even though I had not booked that in, after I informed them that new glasses were not on the cards but daily disposable lenses were. This was, for me, a great start to building up a new customer relationship and i'll always remember that when I need another eye test.

The first thing I noticed was how good and modern the pre-eye test equipment was and it was certainly a step up from what I had been used to. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a pre-eye test. The staff were very friendly and clearly explained each section and what I had to do with my eye movement.

Then came the eye test itself and again the equipment was brand new and presumably state of the art as I had seen nothing like the letter board at the other end of the room. The lady doing this test for me was again very pleasant and really thorough too. Once this test had been complete, she immediately ran a contact lens check for me which included giving me a free pair to walk around in for a while to get used to the dailies. This made a real difference to my confidence in them and again will be remembered.

I have now ordered 15 pairs of lenses for the very reasonable price of £15 and these will be ready within the week. I cannot comment on the glasses service and prices because that was never my reason for going. Well done Asda on a great service.
