More than 75 years ago, Dr Bach invented a range of 38 homeopathic remedies made using natural extracts from flowers. The Crab Apple flower remedy is designed to be taken by those who feel the need to be cleansed, and cleaned from the inside out. It's particularly good for people who feel like they have been poisoned, be it by food or drink or by the negative atmospheres around them.

I've tried lots of the flower remedies before and have had good results, so thought I'd try this one when I was recovering from food poisoning and generally felt like an internal spring clean.

My bottle of Crab Apple flower remedy cost £4 online for a 20ml bottle from a homeopathy website. I can recommend looking for this online as from my experience, the full range isn't always easy to find on the high street.

The remedy comes in a small glass bottle with a pipette top like an eye dropper, so you can easily give out the recommended dosage (around 4 drops). The remedy itself is made from spring water mixed with Crab Apple extract and a grape brandy alcohol preservative, which keeps it fresher.

The drops of flower remedy can either be taken directly onto the tongue, which is easiest, but I can't stand the taste as it's too alcoholic for my liking. Instead I put my drops into a glass of water, which is the other recommended method, and then ingest them by sipping it. I really prefer using this method, it's much nicer.

Whilst homeopathic remedies such as this Crab Apple flower remedy might not work for everyone, I find that it worked wonders for me. After about an hour after taking the drops in water, I felt cleaner, less focused on my illness, less poisoned and better in general. I know some people might say it's a placebo, and that an improvement would be seen anyway, but given it only cost me £4 and it helped me to feel better, this might be worth a try even for cynics!
