Advantages: They do what they say on the tin and they do it very well

Disadvantages: A bit pricey, didn't like the taste to start with but now I do

After trying Kalms, I was skeptical about whether any of these natural stress relievers actually worked.

The night before my spanish speaking exam I was incredibly stressed because I had left all the revision to the last minute. I had to memorise 22 pages of spanish in about 5 hours. To make matters worse, our hairdresser was round (she is very loud). So there I was almost in tears, shaking from stress trying to memorise this stuff. My Mom had recently bought some of these pastilles and I thought I would take a couple to try to see if they would calm me down. I sucked on 2 pastilles and continued revising. After about 15-20 minutes, the tight feeling in my chest from stress had gone, I was not shaking or about to cry. I felt really positive that I could do this and get it all done within the limited time I had. In the end I managed to get it all done and got a good mark in my speaking exam. I genuinely believe that without those pastilles I would not have been able to do what I did in that night.

I also used them for my driving test- I stalled twice in my driving test and usually when I had stalled in the past I had panicked and made a mess of getting going again, yet in the test I just calmly turned the car back on again. I truly was and still am amazed at how well these pastilles work.

After my experiences with these pastilles, I am convinced they work and have recommended them to my friends and family. They are very very good.

The packaging is also very appealing. I like the way you open and close the yellow tin. You push down on the middle of the lid to open it and squeeze in the sides of the lid to close it (this is fun) On the packaging it says they are alcohol free and that they have a natural colour and a natural flavour. It says they are soothing pastilles with flower essences and sweetener. Excessive consumption may lead to a laxative effect and they may contain traces of gluten which means they may not be suitable for celiacs.

The pastilles are yellow and look like little round suns. They have an elderflower and orange taste (I didn't like this taste much to start with but it has grown on me now) You get quite a few in the tin as well.

I bought mine from Boots, £5.50 for 50g, I do think this is a little steep but I can't deny that they are worth it. They are definitely the best product of their kind on the market and so I think they are worth this price.

In my opinion, one pastille can help with acute stress (however I would not usually bother taking a pastille for acute stress because it is not that bad) If I am going to take them, I take 2 at a time and I use them when I am under a lot of pressure all at once e.g. learning 22 pages of spanish by heart in 5 hours. I also take 2 when I am very anxious e.g. before my driving test. I think the effects of one are quite minimal but the effects of two are tremendous and I think the effects plateau at this point (taking 3 seems to have the same effects as taking 2)

I am not sure how they fare with long term stress as I have not had this experience, but they certainly work with short bouts of stress and anxiety.

Summary: This has to be the best product on the market to soothe and de-stress you, and it's natural!
